Completing ten years of creation, the project "see and feel through touch" of the National Museum of fine arts, back to accessibility and sustainability, inaugurates a new phase: the focus now turns to the contemporary art.
In this new stage the guest is the visual artist Suzana Queiroga, Member of the famous Generation 80 Lage Park, whose exhibition the MNBA opens in day 16 de Mayo, at 12:00, in the event of the 15th Week of the Museums, promoted by IBRAM.
One of the highlights of the show is the work "Tops", a plaster relief donated in 2009 the MNBA, produced with the intention to participate in an educational project, in which the relationship with the work could be stimulated from the tactile perception.
In addition to this, will be displayed three other works, one of which will be produced at the opening of the exhibition, focusing on the development of a rich sensory experience with blind and psychic. Suzana Queiroga will present an interactive map of the area where is located the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Besides other works which may be tateadas.
The work "Tops" will be set in a new context, where the visual perception can be minimized and other senses need to be enabled, relief, along with other works, gains new dimensions and an expanded space. In an environment with Dim lighting and without textual information, the aim is to activate other senses, which colors to gain sound, smell, texture, feelings and sensations.
"It is a path to be traversed with the body, where time is activated and a narrative begins. Here, give space to other senses is a unique opportunity to relearn the world ", explain the Trustees Daniel Bacon, Simone Bibian and Rossano Antenuzzi, all technicians of the Museu Nacional de Belas Artes/Ibram/MinC.
Parallel, There will be a round table with the artist and their guests, discussing the topic of science and art, including contributions from a neuroscientist.

Started in 2007, the project foresaw the possibility of touch in reproductions in bas-relief and some models, made from the artistic collection of the Museum, of works specially selected for this job. The objective was to enable the aesthetic experimentation and knowledge of art history and artistic processes, making them accessible to visually-impaired persons, in order to democratise access to culture.
