The EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, in partnership with Frankfurt Book Fair, opens to the public the second edition of House Europedays 11 to 13 th July 2019, AS das 09h00 17h00, in the Church of Saint Rita of Cascia – a Portuguese colonial building, built in Paraty 1722, which today houses the Museum of sacred art (Over Santa Rita S / N) – and, by the Paraty international literary festival, holds a series of meetings between professionals in the field of social memory with the aim of promoting a public debate that will articulate knowledge and practices through the dialogue between theories and practices about the future of museums and the role of these institutions in contemporary times.

Curated researcher and professor Leno Veras and museologist Mariana Várzea, a team of big names in Europe and Brazil was gathered to exchange experiences and perspectives converge on the Future of Museums, having the "Memory Policies" and "Writings of History", practices carried out by these institutions that safeguard our past, as a theme to think our present. There will be five tables discussions with writers, thinkers and managers of museums and national and international cultural institutions, around the following areas: “curatorial practices and contemporary art collecting”; “hegemonic historiography and dissident narratives”; and “decolonial voices and protagonists insurgents”.

To receive the public even more enhanced way all these thoughts and knowledge environment will be taken by an unprecedented public address system of the winning artists Franz Manata and Saul Laudares, which will be structured in the nave of the Church of Santa Rita through a set of speakers, that will enable the construction of an immersive ambience that will have a living memory of the National Museum as raw. Coordinated by Franz Manata and Saul Laudares, former curator of the Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro and professor at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage, respectively, the exhibition to be held in Singapore at Casa Europa offers a unique heritage, recently acquired by the museum: letters from children, adolescents and young, from different regions of the country, who hold the support of this generation to the museum, as well as their interest in knowing the collections (most did not have access to the institution before the fire).

These documents proved to be a powerful incentive for professionals involved in the rescue and preservation of the acquis carry forward the reconstruction work of this museum, essential part of Brazilian history.
