Here lies the sun
Who created the dawn
And gave light to the day
And pastured the afternoon.
The magical shepherd
With luminous hands
That fertilized the roses
And ripped them apart.
Here lies the sun
The gentle androgynous
It's violent
It has the form
Of all women
And died at sea.
(MATHEW, 2009, p.154)

Painting a work is like herding colors, directing them along the white paper or canvas; taking them to the ecstasy of mixtures; lighting scenes and people; giving them life and poetically eternalizing every little piece of the world. The colors follow the brush that slides across the screen, who spins and who forgets that he himself is not part of the scene. This could also be the thought of the artist who is often on the scene, in some corner, escondido, looking like it will suddenly emerge from the works. It is possible to perceive this feeling when appreciating the work of artist Cândido Oliveira. In each of your works, through your skillful hands, Your presence is inevitable and your trace is unmistakable.

Born in Pernambuco in 1961, The artist had already demonstrated an interest in drawing since he was little.. From 1975, living in São Paulo, Cândido had contact with the city's museums and was able to observe closely the works that would inspire his work.. In 1992, studied with the great master Gilberto Geraldo with whom he had the opportunity to improve techniques and, from 1995 began to work exclusively with Art.

Its classic and realistic style presents diverse themes ranging from places to people; countries where the artist travels through art and scenes from ancient times. In all the works, realism is present, making your Art unique. In your resume you can see that there is no room for amateurism. Since 1992 participating in exhibitions, receiving awards in several halls in several different locations, Cândido is leaving his mark on the History of Brazilian Art.

Like a trip, his work toured Italian Tuscany (Fig. 2) and takes us along with her as she observes the mountains and valleys in the background, the towering trees and wineries, with the majestic houses. The colors of nature contrast with the tones of the construction. Shadows and natural lighting make the entire set beautiful and pleasant to look at.. Years, observers, looks like we're on the scene, running through the fields, feeling the breeze and the smell of the forest.

And it may be that the artist has, himself traveled through the streets of an ancient Paris (Fig. 3) illuminated by the sky in the evening, in shades of yellow and blue. Inside the houses, the lights on attest to life, who is also on the streets, with the ladies in their long dresses and the carriages.

The interior of Brazil is also portrayed by the artist (Fig. 5). Chickens walk and feed in a common farm scene. In the background, nature and an old house, with the peeling wall complete the scene. The heat of the middle of the day is clear on the ground, with the shadows of animals. The perfection and details make the scene a photographic image of a simple place typical of Brazil.

If the poet talks about a cat, in a flower,
In a wind that moves through open fields and detours
And never made it to town…
If you talk on a poorly lit corner…
In an old house with a balcony… in a game of dominoes…
(QUINTANA, 2007, p. 105)

And Poetry goes hand in hand with Art, one keeps the other company; one is an integral part of the other. The poet invents scenes that the artist draws; Art recreates places that the poet is enchanted by. Brazilian art continues to recreate its Art in the most beautiful form, observing the beauty of the world that enchants eyes so much.
