This Thursday, day 28 October, from 15h, within the MNBA Project: Open for works, or Professor Alberto Chillón, from the Department of History and Theory of Art at Escola de Belas Artes/UFRJ, will utter a Lecture about the 19th-century sculpture collection of the National Museum of Fine Arts.
The sculptural collection of the National Museum of Fine Arts is, no doubt, the most important collection to understand eighteen hundred Brazilian from the sculptural point of view. Through some works such as Louis Rochet (1813-1878) and Keys Pine (1822-1884), the public will be invited to meet some of the main Brazilian artists and works of the 19th century, as well as unveiling some of the big issues that cross it, as the civilizing project of the empire, Indianism and the construction of the national image, among others.
The project “MNBA: open for works” always takes place on Thursdays, from 3 pm to 4 pm, with places limited to 30 participants. Free registration only through emeio: mnba.eventos@gmail.com
