Continuing our interviews with talented Brazilian artists, we are pleased to introduce you to Rio de Janeiro artist Magda Necklaces, who kindly granted us this interview. She told us a little about his artistic career and his plans for the future, that will surely be successful and very successfully.

1- Where did you born? And what is your academic training?

I was born in Rio de Janeiro. With 17 years I joined the Faculty of Arts and drew I studied Industrial and Visual Communication.

2- How and when you give your first contact with the Arts?

As a child my parents showed me the Art books… were huge and works delighted me!

3- How did you find this gift?

My parents took me to museums on weekends… no doubt this environment awakened in me the interest to conduct similar worked and refine the designs I've ever had.

4- What are your main influences?

The Renaissance architecture with its aesthetic determined… an era of geniuses!

5- What materials do you use in your works?

Oil painting is my main ally… the raw flax, to always use, and sometimes the gold leaf.

6- What is your creative process itself? What inspires you?

…the human body always inspires me! I consider how the human body is represented in art as a record of the times… an example of Contemporary.

7- When you started effectively to produce or create your works?

In 2001 my works started trading, even in Rio de Janeiro where I lived at the time.

8- Art is an intellectual production exquisite, where emotions are embedded in the context of creation, but in art history, we see that many artists are derived from other, following technical and artistic movements through time, you own any model or influence of any artist? Who would be?

Undoubtedly three great artists have always aroused my admiration: Lucian Freud, Egon Schiele e Gustav Klimt.

9- What does art mean to you? If you were to summarize in a few words the meaning of Arts in your life…

Art is my life partner!

10- What techniques do you use to express their ideas, feelings and perceptions about the world? (Whether it is through painting, sculpture, drawing, collage, photography… or uses several techniques in order to make a mix of different art forms)

I am a figurative painter, Always use oil paint on raw linen. I like to use gold leaf interfering with the painting in my works.

11- Every artist has his mentor, that person who you have mirrored, you encouraged and inspired you to follow this career, going ahead and taking your dreams the other expression levels, who this person is and how it introduced you in the art world?

I do not have a specific mentor… I have fellow artists who always encouraged me and showed me ways to work together!

12- You have another activity beyond art? You give lessons, lectures etc.?

Not, My job is only to be a painter.

14- Your plans for the future?

My plans for the future is to continue learning every day more and more.

15- In your opinion what is the future of Brazilian art and its artists? (in the general context) and why so many artists are giving preference to show their work in international exhibitions despite high costs?

We have great artists in Brazil despite little incentive in our country. I believe that many artists end up looking for international exhibitions simply by seeking to be more valued… whether it, I believe in borderless Art.

16- I have noticed that some traditional galleries are closing activities. Artists are giving preference to exhibit in spaces Culturais.Em your opinion what would be the cause?

The financial crisis has caused many businesses close down activities… but this year, specifically, I see some galleries open or reopen, and it gives me great joy… I see the Cultural Spaces as a further means of artists come together and be seen and eventually sold. It is a stimulus for any artist to have more space to exhibit their work, attracting people to care about Culture and the Arts.
