The engraving Museum city of Curitiba is with open registration for courses in January. They will be offered the linocut courses, lithograph, woodcut, metal engraving and a theoretical-practical workshop on engraving. Special holiday workshops take place 9 from January to 11 February. One of the courses offered is linocut printing using the “Lost Matrix” or “Picasso Technique” technique.. The course will be held in 9 to 25 January, on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 14h to 17h. The technique was developed by Picasso 1958, because of the difficulties he faced when he decided to print a color linocut with multiple arrays, one for each color. In this technique the artist prints each color in turn, and so on, digging every new impression. At the end, You will have a colored engraving but the array can no longer be reused, due to various cuts suffered.
With guidance of artist Everly Giller, the course aims to broaden knowledge about the art of engraving and more specifically linocut, as well as guide the student in carrying out each step, thus collaborating to develop their artistic potential. The course covers the history of linoleum, the image creation process, linocut techniques of artistic (basics in black / white and color, textures, lines, volume and shadows), the burning and printing process, the numbering conventions, title and signature.
The Artistic Lithography Techniques course will be 9 to 27 January, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 14h to 17h. With guidance from Stely Marchesini, the workshop presents the “black way” and “image transfer” techniques. The artist Vinícius Buzzatto guides, in the same period, woodcut and metal engraving workshops (in etching and aquatint techniques). From 14 from January to 11 February, on Saturdays, The theoretical-practical workshop “Content in search of context” will be held, with Maikel da Maia.
