Event is part of the Ethnic Food Program and will take place in the experimental kitchen of the Municipal Market
How to prepare a tasty acarajé will be the theme of the inaugural class of the Ethnic Food Program, which begins Saturday (27/4), at 8:30, in the municipal market experimental cooking. Those interested can sign up at the site or the portal www.sympla.com.br/gastronomia-etnica-no-mercado-municipal—Culinary-baiana__502848 and pay a fee of $ 30. The classes will have at least 20 and up 30 students.
Specialty of African cuisines and african-Brazilian, acarajé is a dumpling black-eyed peas, and onion salt, fried in palm oil. Before learning how to prepare it, students will know how to choose the ingredients and where to find them. For this, accompanied by the instructor Marcia Santos, they descend in groups to the pits of the Municipal Market.

The initiative is a partnership with the City Department of Supply and Ascesme (organization that brings together local marketers) to teach interested parties to prepare typical dishes of different ethnic groups that live in Curitiba. "Food is one of the most striking manifestations of the cultural diversity that characterizes the people. Therefore, addition of known, it needs to be respected and valued ", notes the ethnic groups coordinator of the Cultural Foundation and author of the project, Carlos Hauer Amazon Almeida.
Instructors of the Ethnic Food Program are not experts in food but learned recipes with family and friends. This is the case of Marcia and all the instructors who will be on site to teach culinary specialties of Brazil and the world, always in the morning of last Saturday of each month.
