Milton Hatoum, Betty Milan, José Roberto Walker. In addition to new talents such as Fabiana Vanz
The Casa-Museu Ema Klabin continues with its rich cultural programming through the #CasaMuseuEmCasa Project. During the months of July, August and September lives with big names in literature are confirmed, mediated by Ana Beatriz Demarchi, such as: Milton Hatoum, Betty Milan, José Roberto Walker. In addition to new talents such as writer Fabiana Vanz, who will be mediated by Paloma Durante,.
The program Meeting with writers: other looks will be via the Zoom Meeting platform. Every encounter, about an hour and twenty minutes, will be broadcast live and will then be available on the museum's social media. Will be 50 minutes for mediation and 15 minutes for audience questions. Are just 95 vacancies, Interested parties must register in advance via the museum website (emaklabin.org.br). Registration for the first live will be open from the day 20/07.
During meetings, the audience will have an overview of the writing process, relations with the social and political reality of Brazil, favorite themes and works of these great masters of Literature. Award-winning books will be highlighted, such as, Snow in the Morning of São Paulo, by José Roberto Walker, a rHistorical and realistic romance that tells the breathtaking love story between Oswald de Andrade and the normalista Miss Cyclone, in pre-modernism in São Paulo at the beginning of the 20th century. Just like Betty Milan's last book, Baal, which narrates a drama that is always current, that of immigration. In addition, the work “The darkest place” by award-winning writer Milton Hatoum.
According to mediator Ana Beatriz Demarchi Barel, the three writers strike a balance between what really matters to a reader from Brazil or anywhere else in the world. “We invited three writers whose works bring themes or characters that are underprivileged in Literature to the center of discussion.. The posts also resonate strongly with readers and I believe this is in part due to the fact that the writers rise to the challenge of tackling difficult issues, who run on the margins of society; for being fearless and discussing established ideas, putting them into question. I also thought that my choice should include authors who expressed different projects from each other., rich and sophisticated”, explains the mediator who has a PhD in Literature from Université Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle and post-doctorate in History at Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa, at IEB-USP.
The event will also showcase new talent, like the young writer Fabiana Vanz Dias who launched her first book “On the courage of fear and other sane madnesses”, by publisher Patuá.
According to the Casa-Museu course coordinator Ema Klabin, Cristina Moutela, the meetings follow the theme of the Ema Klabin House-Museum in 2020 "Other Narratives". “In these meetings with writers we intend to bring pieces of Brazil, recorded by other eyes, other narratives”.
