Úmida opens its doors to Contemporary Art in the month of May.
Úmida Arte opens its doors for the first time in 2022, bringing the strength and talent of two generations of Brazilian Contemporary Art, the young talent Daniel Nicolaevsky in his exhibition Solo “Roots of Time”, and unpublished installations by renowned contemporary artist Franklin Cassaro in “Natureza Tântrica”.
from the 04 de Mayo, creative producer Úmida Arte opens its house in Jardim Botânico to the public for the first time in 2022, taking advantage of the “buzz” generated by the CASA COR event in the neighborhood. “We are lucky to be located very close to this important event that is CASA COR and the best way to celebrate this special moment, and the current post-pandemic social reopening, will be welcoming the public again in our house”, says the director of Úmida Arte enthusiastically, Márcio Regaleria.
Both Cassaro and Daniel occupy Humida Arte for the first time., the unusual meeting of these two great artists and the plastic and sensorial multiplicity of their works transform the house into an artistic barn not to be missed for art lovers..

Franklin Cassaro's Artist Residency at Úmida Arte
In this unique series of “Sculptural Acts” the renowned artist Franklin Cassaro enters into communion with the architectural and natural space of Úmida Arte through the. “tantric nature” is a series of works on the connection. Cassaro artistically resides in this house, in this garden, in this nature, investigating the environment that surrounds you and its subtle and magical interactions.
The purity of Cassaro's gaze is manifested in his creations. Respect is the first step in the tantric movement that inspires the artist in its construction. Material is pure, nature is pure, the act is pure. No additives or shortcuts are used in his works. The touch, rhythm and delivery make alchemy happen in this tantric ballet. Cassaro's work does not interfere in space, she connects. Franklin Cassaro is without a doubt one of the most important names in Brazilian Contemporary Art., with works in the most notable national and international collections, acclaimed exhibitions at the Museums of Modern Art in Rio and Museum of Art in São Paulo, being one of the artists responsible for opening the Rio Olympics in 2016, your work has traveled all over the world.
In this artistic residency in Úmida, it is possible to see Cassaro’s works occupying unusual spaces, scattered in corners that were previously inaccessible to the expository look of the house, that, in his meticulous observation, become altars for connections between his work and nature., between his work and architecture.
This occupation proposed by the artist is organic like Nature, the Sculptural Acts will dialogue with time, and last as long as it takes. what is today, it won't be tomorrow, so Cassaro invites us to do more than just observe, to sense, witness the ephemerality of life. Roots of Time
The art of Daniel Nicolaevsky
The powerful work of young artist Daniel Nicolaevsky occupies the home of Úmida Arte for the first time. Daniel is undoubtedly one of the great names of the new generation of contemporary Brazilian artists. His plural and multimedia work intertwines with his research on his roots and Brazilian roots.
In "Roots of Time", Daniel investigates the dialogue between human beings and time, this invisible rope that binds us together. your sculptures, ramifications of his performances, impress by their plastic beauty but mainly, question us for their poetic and symbolic quality. The artist rescues his roots, its history and the history of a people.
Born in Rio de Janeiro 1991. Daniel Nicolaevsky Maria holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from the School of Fine Arts in Paris.. His work has a constant transmutation and multidisciplinary, situating his work as well in surrealism as in performance. Creates through your body or your objects, strong and meaningful images that question the position of the body, of migration and marginalization.
His work is filled with symbols that pass through dreams and the fields of the imaginary., go to war, love and religious rites, Daniel uses his childhood memories and the history of minorities to reflect on a possible multiple existence.
In August 2020, he was the youngest resident of White Mountain College's experimental multidisciplinary program (WMC) na Marselha School of Fine Arts. He has exhibited and performed in several national and international art centers. São Paulo, Paris, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, are some of the cities where, the young Daniel from 29 years, passed with his work.
Currently Daniel lives between France and Brazil. This is a unique opportunity to see up close the work of this young talent in his homeland..
The Master of Time
from the
