Free show will pass through the virtual stages of five cities in Espírito Santo
Art can be a refuge in the worst moments. One year after your father's death, the Espírito Santo choreographer Marcelo Oliveira, launches the show “Desabafo – pandemic clippings”, that passes virtually between days 09 and 30 of July through the cities of São Mateus (09/07), Mucurici (17/07), Mountain (20/07), Victory (22 and 23/07) and Jaguaré (30/07), all in the Holy Spirit. The presentation raises questions about anxiety and deals with the importance of maintaining mental health. The project also includes debates and workshops, promoted online via YouTube and the Zoom platform.
created by the artist, interpreter, choreographer, dance teacher, producer and cultural activist, Marcelo Oliveira, the vent show is a form of positive access to deal with the problems generated during the period of social isolation, that spans over a year.
"The gestural basis of the show, as well as the artistic conception, comes from research around the day-to-day demands of hitting and meeting pre-established goals by a society, and that generate in our bodies a latent state of anxiety, making people tend to be insecure and unstable., victims of an affliction that castrates the possibility of action and creates feelings of panic, fear and others.”, defines Marcelo.
The main objective of the traveling show is to provide free artistic activities to vulnerable audiences. The idea is to encourage audience formation by dialoguing with other locations about dance productions. Beyond, of course, provide visibility for artists from Espírito Santo.
In scene, the dancer Marcelo Oliveira demonstrates through his bodily performance the symptoms of anxiety and highlights important points on how to face the evils of the disorder that most attacks Brazilians: according to WHO are almost 19 millions of diagnosed Brazilians.
Dancer Marcelo Oliveira is a dance teacher at the São Mateus City Hall and teaches for more than 210 students, where he develops his research work involving mental health within dance practice. Also acts as a cultural producer, creator of the C.R.I.A project (Regional Artistic Initiation Collective) which provides young people with artistic training and initiation courses within the audiovisual. Over 25 local artists from different areas were awarded by the collective CRIA, with projects already carried out and that will be shown in different schedules. The project is based in a riverside geographic region on the banks of the Cricaré (ES), directly impacting the transformation of the perspective of the place with an eclectic and extensive record of achievements.
The show Desabafo had its debut on the stages of São Mateus in 2019, having also been presented in Salvador (BA), Feira de Santana (BA) and Linhares (ES). The promotional photos are by Mariana Garcia, while production, conception, direction and interpretation are by Marcelo Oliveira. The show will be broadcast by videomakers Alif Ferreira and Gabriel Moura, that will have sound design, lighting and stage manager by Carlos Barbosa. Local production: Emilly Bonomo, Fabricio de Jesus Santos, Thiago Igo Rodrigues da Silva and Vitória Felicio Dornelas.
