SOAL 2017 -Salon d'Automne of Latin America "the Place of art" by Edmundo Chandra

In your 4° Edition, held in may 2016, the SOAL confirmed your place as second international exhibition of Visual Arts, without commercial purposes held in Brazil. Welcoming the significant number of 11500 registered visitors during the event period (from 5 May to 5 of June 2016) no Latin America Memorial, in São Paulo.

Organized by Associação Cultural Salon d’Automne França-Brasil, in partnership with Fundação Memorial da América Latina, the 5° SOAL is expected to happen between days 4 May and 4 of June 2017.

For this 5° Edition, more than 500 artists applied to the selection process in various forms of plastic expression, between painting, sculpture, graphic arts, photography, artist book, video, installation, performance and street art.

A jury composed of 7 professionals, active in various cultural fronts, qualified and recognized in Brazil and abroad; selected 107 artists, among the 520 registered, from 91 Brazilian municipalities and from 20 countries.

Among the selected, the public will be able to make contact with the brazilian artistic production, from Porto Alegre to Aracajú, as well as, a sample of the art produced in Argentina, Canada, China, France, Iraq, Japan, Morocco, Poland and Uruguay.

To celebrate your fifth birthday, the SOAL 2017 invited by French sculptor Christian Soucaret, He was an Assistant of the famous American sculptor and painter Alexander Calder, to accomplish a monumental mobile to be installed in front of the Gallery Marta Traba, This location houses our showroom. The artist is in residency at the Toriba Hotel Spa & Restaurants, in Campos do Jordão/SP.

The Toriba is the newest supporter of SOAL, sponsoring not only your work, but the stay of the artist. All those who visit the Latin America Memorial during the period of the 5º SOAL, will have the opportunity to meet not only the work, but the whole process of work of the sculptor. And, later, in the gardens of the Toriba, your original home and final.
