“The exhibition intertwines the paths of the artists, who transmit through their artistic processes the memory rooted in the technique, in gesture and affection”, explains Henrique Davini, coordinator of PUCPR CULTURA. “The exhibition is an invitation to dialogue about art and memory beyond materiality and to envision them as part of our trajectories.”

among the collection, are paintings, prints and textile works, that refer to the collective memory of the black movement in Brazil, of the military dictatorship and the individual memory, intimate and ephemeral, particular to each.

The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday., from 9:0 to 5:0 pm, at the Cultural Center of PUCPR Curitiba, located on Rua Imaculada Conceição, 1155, the Old Prado.

about the artists

claudia lara, Curitiba, has exhibitions in several countries and, since 2020, part of the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Paraná. The works of the visual artist address the significance of the black presence in Brazilian society. Imagined conversations with family members created the embroidered portraits. An art of delicacy in homage to the memory of their ancestors and our ancestors.

Rita Vaz, artist and author of the book “Weaving memories and absences”, reflects on memory erasures in the business-military dictatorship in Brazil. Through art, aims to recover memories, regret absences, record survivals and animate resistances.

Twine Soifer has worked with multiple forms of art and currently has works in several collections, like at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum, at the São Paulo Museum of Art, among other institutions. The multimedia artist presents, intimately and subtly, memory as that common to what we are, transpiring the ephemerality in time and space.
