Artist, Restorer, art teacher and critic, Claudio Valério (RJ, 1949) extensive and encouraging trajectory, coordinated the renovation works of the giant screens “Batalha do Avaí” and “Batalha dos Guararapes”, both from the collection of the National Museum of Fine Arts, in the years 1980. At the invitation of architect Oscar Niemeyer, created in 2003 a large panel for the Roberto Silveira Memorial, located on the Niemeyer Way, in Niterói.
This Friday, day 16 October, part of his artistic work will be shared in the video that will be released within the Arte em Diálogo project - In Quarantine, at 4:00 pm, on MNBA social networks: Facebook – MNBARio and Instagram – @mnbario.
About the artist's work, renowned critic Walmyr Ayala informs that “his design is perfect, the academic tricks he masters and manipulates with mastery, despite that it is a blunt job, vivo, responsible and engaged what it offers us. Engaged in life, in the sad realization of what we are, in all planes of temporality, or maintaining a situation of helpless lambs during the holocaust ”.
Deeply connected to Niterói, where he was Secretary of Culture, Claudio has been developing numerous projects over the years. In 2009, coordinated with Edson Motta Junior the restoration project for the decorative paintings by Eliseu Visconti at the Municipal Theater in Rio de Janeiro and two years later, coordinated, together with the same conservative, the restoration project of the large panels Guerra e Paz, of Candido Portinari.
