The Art Museum of the river-SEA, under the management of the Institute Odeon, Start the year with a special holiday program so no one gets stuck in January. During the Rio summer, there will be no shortage of workshops, gallery talks, educational activities, in addition to training courses for students, teachers, social and museum educators, curators and artists. The public will also be able to check out the exhibitions on display: “My World of Yours – Alexandre Sequeira”, “As I drink the water, the water drinks me – Lucia Laguna”, “Leopoldina, Princess of independence, of arts and sciences” and “A Cor do Brasil” – which ends its season in 15 January.
On 12, to Antipoetry Office, with Jandir Jr. and André Vargas, invites children to build a collective method to make Antipoemas, using the same instruments as in a traditional poem: the words, paper and pencil. In the day 14, the museum carries out the activity “A book, thousand books”, às 14h, aimed at children from 8 years, accompanied by those responsible. In 15 January, the “Relative” Gallery Conversation, às 14h, proposes relationships between the exhibitions “While drinking water, the water I drink – Lucia Laguna” e “My world your-Alexandre Sequeira”. Yet on this day, at 3:0 pm, the educational activity “Masks and Windows” invites everyone to experience pictorial processes that alter the visual space in the exhibition “The color of Brazil”.
Antonio Amador e George Marques, MAR educators, talk about the work “#Landscape 86 (2016)”, by artist Lucia Laguna, exhibited at the exhibition “While drinking water, the water drinks me”. The activity takes place on the days 17 (14h) and 21 (14h). Days 20 and 28 January, às 14h, The kids will have fun with the “Meme-me” workshop. on the web, memes are everywhere. They can also be in museums? Yes! Therefore, educators Priscilla Gabrielle and André Vargas will teach you how to create meme works, experimenting with multiple forms of interpretation and appropriation of the works on display.
In 21 January, Max William Morais and Guilherme Dias, MAR educators, talk to visitors, às 14h, about the work “Melee of naked warriors” (2005), of Adriana Varejao, present at the exhibition “Leopoldina, Princess of independence, of Arts and Sciences”. Even to this day and in 24 January, educators Geancarlos Barbosa and Mariana Vilanova talk about the artist Alexandre Sequeira, whose exhibition “My world of yours” is on display at the museum. In the day 22, às 14h, a guest neighbor uses his experience and repertoire to propose investigations, routes, experiments and new dialogues in the exhibition “My world your-Alexandre Sequeira”. Soon after, at 3:0 pm, the educational activity “Platform in dysrhythmia” invites two people to mediate images in pairs in Praça Mauá.
From 25 to 27 January, the 5th Mediator Training Course takes place – Mediation and participatory processes, das 10h às 18h, as part of project actions (To) Thinking and Making Museums, from the Art and Visual Culture Program – Escola do Olhar. This edition debates and analyzes pedagogical projects, museum and curatorial, investigating the threshold between public participation and use in and by museums and cultural institutions.
The cultural program comes to an end on the day 29, with MAR in Libras. The museum promotes guided tours in Brazilian sign language, às 14h, the exposure My world your-Alexandre Sequeira. Then, at 3:0 pm, the educational activity “See and Trace” experiments with the poetics of layers, present in Lucia Laguna’s paintings in the exhibition “While drinking water, the water drinks me”.

The Museu de Arte do Rio – MAR
The MAR is a space dedicated to art and visual culture. It occupies two buildings on praça Mauá: an eclectic style, which houses the Exhibition Hall; other modernist style, Look where the school's work. The architectural design unites the two buildings with a fluid concrete cover, which refers to a wave - a trademark of the museum -, and a ramp, where visitors come to the exhibition spaces.
An initiative of Prefeitura do Rio in partnership with Fundação Roberto Marinho, the sea has activities that involve collecting, registration, search, preservation and return of cultural property to the community. Proactive support space education and culture, the museum was born with a school - the School Look -, whose proposal is innovative museological: foster the development of an educational program of reference for actions in Brazil and abroad, combining art and education from the curatorial program that guides the institution.
The sea is managed by the Odeon, a social organization of culture, selected by the Rio de Janeiro City Hall for public notice. The Museum has the Grupo Globo as maintainer, the BNDES as a sponsor of Technical Reserve and supporter of the exhibition Leopoldina, Princess of independence, of Arts and Sciences, to Petrobras also as supporter of Leopoldina, Princess of independence, and the Repsol as a supporter of exhibition.
The School Look has the Fecomercio System RJ, through the Sesc, institutional partner, and has the Banco Votorantim and the Prodiel as supporters. The Brookfield supports the educational visits. The program SEA at the Academy has support from Dataprev and Amil One Health via Municipal law of incentive to culture, and Aliansce via the Rouanet law. The Souza Cruz is copatrocinadora the Sunday at sea.
The Sea also has the support of the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro, and implementation of the Ministry of culture and the Federal Government of Brazil through the Federal law of incentive to culture.
SEA Service
Entrance: R$ 20 The R $ 10 (half price) - People with up 21 years, private school students, university, disabled people and public servants of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The sea is part of the Carioca Program Pays Half, offering half price to locals and residents of the city of Rio de Janeiro in all cultural institutions linked to City Hall. Present a document proving (identity, proof of residence, water bills, light, pay phone with, tops, three months of issue) and remove your ticket at the box office. Payment by cash or card (Visa or Mastercard).
Single Ticket: R$ 32 – R$ 16 (half price) locals and residents in Rio de Janeiro, on presentation of supporting documentation or proof of residence. Supporting documents will be considered those that contain the birthplace, such as RG, driver's license, portfolio of work, Passport etc.. Will be considered proof of residence titles of collection with a maximum 3 (three) months of issue, as water services, light, landline or natural gas, duly accompanied by official document of identification with photo (RG, driver's license, portfolio of work, Passport etc.) of the user.
Policy free: Pay no entry-on presentation of evidentiary documentation – students from public (teaching elementary and middle), children up to five years or people from 60, public school teachers, employees of museums, groups in situations of social vulnerability educational visit, Neighbors of the sea and tourist guides. Tuesdays admission is free to the general public. On the last Sunday of the month, the Museum has free entry to all through the project Sunday at sea.
