Profession Art
Rapid courses series opens paths for insertion of young audiences in professional areas of the cultural sector
The limited offer of professional qualification courses to work in technical areas of cultural production motivated, in 2003, the founder of CLA. Teatral Mapati e do Cultural Mapati, Tereza Padilha, to idealize a series of free training workshops.
With annual editions, the Profession Art presents itself as an inclusive and democratic platform for the insertion of young people living in peripheral regions, minorities or vulnerable, in the business market.
Recognition of the initiative came in 2009, when he was a finalist for the Itaú-Unicef Award. Laurel at national level that, there is 25 years, identifies integral education initiatives in the country.
The topics covered are chosen after a careful look by cultural managers and qualitative research of employability in the artistic-cultural sector, involving all the Administrative Regions of the DF.
This year, Profissão Arte will offer initiation courses in Cultural Production; Production Logistics; Scenography; Sets; Teatro; Circus; and Ceramics Handcrafted. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, classes will take place remotely, with the exception of Ceramics Artisanal, that will occur following strict health security protocols.

The courses bring as common content, basic notions for complying with the steps that involve the realization of the central theme proposed in each of them. With this, participants are provoked to go deeper into the subject or to start individual or collective projects. Certification is granted to anyone who has a frequency higher than 80% [from classes].
The methodology applied in classes is based on the creation of means for the promotion of citizenship and defense of the rights of all, all and sundry. Discriminatory stances are deconstructed, thereby opening up new perspectives for the formation of an empathic society.
In line with this thought, for editing 2020 of the Profession Art, to AAMA signed a partnership with Bocadim – Festival Multiartístico LGBTQ+ longest and uninterrupted in the Federal Capital.
As a result of this union, part of the vacancies will be destined exclusively to the Festival's focal public. Another population also attended in the workshops will be relatives of persons deprived of their liberty – prison or socio-educational system. To serve these groups well, the teachers adapted their pedagogical strategies and course menus.
