Festival, which is in its ninth edition, arrives at Praça das Artes the next day 19
São Paulo, 16 March 2022 – The Arts Square receive this weekend, 19 and 20 March, the ninth edition of “Strange Music Festival”. The presentations, free and open to the public, are focused on Brazilian exploratory music and on hybrid arts projects that allow sound to dialogue with other artistic expressions.
There will be several performances during the two days of the festival., providing the public with a wide range of artist options, which include facilities site specific e performances, promoting an intersection between the field of visual arts, of music and sound arts in projects created especially for this event.
“Since the first edition of the festival, we always seek to bring artists who challenge the limits of music, proposing new aesthetic solutions. In this issue, we expanded the look to include works commissioned for the festival, always proposing a dialogue between visual arts and music, but also considering the exploration of the exhibition space, the relationship with architecture and performance”, explains Thiago Cury, festival chief curator.
Altogether, Praça das Artes will host eight projects created especially for the festival, as the presentation “Silences”, with performance by Dudu Tsuda and Marcus Bastos, "Password", by Kiko Dinucci and Fernando Velázquez, and an immersive show, with the performance of M Takara, Carla Boregas and Dimitri Lima, in the exhibition hall.
