Zoomorphic elements and extracted from tropical fauna and flora are highlights in a curated by Marcus Lontra
“At the moment the discussion on the preservation of the Brazilian natural landscape reaches international dimension, It is essential to present this theme in all its potential, collaborating for the elaboration of proposals that aim to integrate man in a harmonious manner and his environment ”, the firm Marcus Otter, curator from “The beings of the world”. The collective brings together contemporary artists from various Brazilian states, represented by Dila Oliveira Gallery, of São Paulo: Alina Fonteneau, Claudio Cupertino, João di Souza, Lucas Elias, Raquel Saliba, Selma Parreira, Sérgio Helle, e Weimar.
Sculptures, paintings and drawings are articulated in the construction of scenarios populated by surprise and enchantment. Occupying three rooms at the Correios RJ Cultural Center, from day 11 August, most of these works have large dimensions and dialogue with the architecture of the building in an eclectic style.. Otter proposes the creation of a varied and surprising exhibition path, pointing out various aspects of contemporary art produced in Brazil.
“Our gallery defines its professional actions as a tool for integration between the market and cultural institutions, collaborating for the increasingly necessary dissemination of the work of important national artists. The exhibition ‘Os Seres do Mundo’ aims to bring the production of contemporary art talents in Brazil to the Carioca public.”, says gallery owner Dila Oliveira.

Color started to flood the works and its palette of tones is a determining part of its identity, be in with contrasting proposals marks or almost monochrome, where the texture speaks louder. Restless, Cupertino developed its own technique from studies on the basic principles of lithography, after his first artistic residency in Athenas in Greece in the year 2012.

João di Souza
Itabuna, Bahia, its current artistic production has fantastic tropical landscapes on large screens, With an invitation to make the look deelong, Unraveling the intricacies between playful and erotic. The artist's youth in the midst of the rich Baiome of the Bahian interior is rescued through these works, in which memory and imagination merge in compositions of warm and humid atmospheres. Such fanciful natures provoke multiple perspectives, that instigate the wonder of the unknown. Large-scale paintings, bigger than the eye understands, are filled by contours, volumes and recesses that suggest hidden bodies between trunks and roots, colors and shapes. Sensuality is latent under the layers of oil paint, converging figure and background in a phenomenon of constant discovery. Di Souza addresses in his production the question of observation time, so relevant to contemporaneity. Supported by references of magical realism and form deconstruction, presents images that demand a surrender of the spectator to the experience of being and being in relation to art.

The exhibition in the curator's words
The landscape has always been the main reference of national identity, since Franz Post and his first images of the American continent representing the Pernambuco floodplain. During the 19th century, the landscape is an instrument of Brazilianness and modernism appropriates it, recording over the decades the changes from an agricultural and rural country to an industrial and urban country.. The show “The Beings of the World” brings together a group of contemporary artists who present the various landscape realities of Brazil today. It is a synthetic panel of the creative capacity of art and the ethnic and cultural diversity that make up the Brazilian nation..
