Free and online activity takes place from 3 to 17 October via Zoom
The Secretary of Culture (Sedac), through the State Film Institute (Iecine), opens registration for another workshop of the professional training project Revealing Rio Grande: Sound Between Borders.
The activity will be taught by the sound designer and direct sound technician, Juan Quintans. Interested can register for free at the linkbit.ly/3SgRoUo.
The meetings will take place virtually through the platform Zoom, from 3 to 17 October (from Monday to Friday), from 9am to 12pm.
The course aims to qualify manpower to work in the area of sonography for audiovisual.
Continuing with the multicultural environment of the 2nd Entre Fronteiras Audiovisual Market, this workshop aims to present to the Mercosur public a path of professionalization in the area of capturing and finalizing sound in audiovisual works. The course seeks participants from the border regions of Rio Grande do Sul, and aims to train professionals who can work in co-productions with neighboring countries, expanding the local market and attracting resources to the state”, declares Zeca Brito, director of iecine.

Lecturer
Juan Quintáns was born in Spain in 1975. Graduated from the Film School of A Coruña, in the sound specialization. Worked in several TV and Film productions. He was also a partner at Caracol Studios, specializing in audio finishing. The professional studied, yet, five years of music, two years of piano and one year of choral singing, as well as several audio-related courses: Foley, Direct Sound in Film, Electricity, among others.
Currently lives in Brazil, in Porto Alegre, and works as a direct sound technician and freelance sound designer. He is also a professor of the Sound for Film and TV course., at the Gaucho Institute of Professional Audio (IGAP), at the Fluxo Escola de Fotografia Expandida and at the postgraduate course at the Community University of the Chapecó Region (UNOCHAPECO).
He worked as a director of documentaries that were entered in festivals and broadcast on TV channels in several countries.. stand out: Flemish art, Brazilian passion (2016) and No love (2018).
