The talent and experience of the artist Thereza Miranda, 92 years, on video in the MNBA's Quarantine project, Friday, 11 ten

Traveler, through his sensitive and refined look, carioca artist Thereza Miranda records the urban landscape, the nature, architectural details like roofs, windows, doors, streets etc., from Brazil and some countries abroad. After, elaborate, these memories turn into works of art with their unmistakable brand, so much that they inspired the poet Carlos Drummond de Andrade, for example.

With the release of the artist's video on Friday, 11 of december, within the Arte em Diálogo Project - In the MNBA Quarantine, you will be able to know a part of Thereza Miranda's trajectory, that to 92 years, works and cultivates many plans. The exhibition takes place at 4 pm, on MNBA social networks: Facebook – MNBARio and Instagram – @mnbario.

How teacher, Thereza, who teaches printmaking and illustration at PUC-RJ since 1974, has generously shared his knowledge, your experience and your talent, contributing to the diffusion of prints and their valorization as a means of artistic expression.

His first steps in engraving took place at MAM-RJ, in 1963, and from then on she boosted her career by participating in several print biennials, in Brazil and abroad, of course Chile, England and Poland. In 2008, celebrated with a great retrospective its 45 year career, MAM-RJ.

In 2018, Thereza Miranda held her last exhibition at MNBA showing the award-winning prints that were incorporated into the collection of the National Museum of Fine Arts through the Marcantonio Vilaça Plastic Arts Award FUNARTE / MinC.

The National Museum of Fine Arts / IBRAM, developed the Arte em Diálogo project – In Quarantine, to provide contemporary artists and civil society with an affective and reflective interaction, in this difficult time of social isolation.
