The importance of Beauty

What is the relationship between a sense of freedom and beauty?

In isolation times, with some freedom (no sense positive) to think, maybe we can get a foundation for human existence that can only be confirmardo by experience, even though it universal.

The idea that we are going through an event of catastrophic proportions, worldwide, in a sense unites us, or, at least, should come together. The Coronavirus puts us ahead with the issue of public health, but also challenges us in many other fields, such as social inequality, poverty, the boundless selfishness. Impels us to think about the meaning of life, whether we are right to live seeking richness, power, fame. Invites us to think what is to be happy, what it is to be free and what kind of culture we should be living.

Today the fear of death unites us, because we share the same feeling.

There is another sense in which also unites: the freedom. Freedom here highlight is unrelated to those indicated by the philosopher Isaiah Berlin (1909 – 1997) in his famous article Two Concepts of Liberty: negative and positive. The concept of freedom here is one in which you feel. But there is another sense we share the necessary form: the feeling of Belo. When we are having a pleasurable experience and can not explain exactly why we feel what we feel, usually we express, simultaneously, the word Beauty. At the same time, we wish to invite someone to share such pleasure., that is, at this point are the opposite of selfish and we are being happy.

Be happy is, before everything, feel Book

.

For the physician and philosopher Schiller (1759 – 1805), how good we are with art, especially Beautiful Art, It is a feeling of freedom. This means that, when we hear a song that excites us, but we do not know exactly why we feel what we are feeling, we're, indeed, in feeling free. The same with poems, paintings, sculptures, movies, at the theatre, Arts in general. But we might ask: this feeling of freedom can only be felt with Beautiful Art?

According to Schiller own, this pleasure with Belo, that is the pleasure of feeling free, part or originates from the subject itself, that is, the source of the pleasure is in the subject and not the object. The object has features that make it a kind of mirror to a desire that we are founding.

For Schiller, the greatest desire of the human is to feel free. The Universe, including us humans as part of the whole, we are determined, and walk, required to form, to be free. Natural is that we can feel free and happy in other ways, for example, when we are praised, when we did well on a test, when we buy a new car. But Schiller calls our attention to a happiness that has an anthropological and psychological character. If we agree that when we're feeling delighted with the Beautiful in Art, our reason not to dominate, even our selfish sensitivity (survival instinct) manifest, at this time, where these forces are equal or are null, we can say that there is a harmony between Sense and Sensibility.

_______

This is the time that we are free of the determinations of reason or selfish sensitivity. But there is no absolute freedom, for it is not possible in a given universe.

What emerges, therefore, It is the fulfillment of our deepest desire, the return to free how we were when we were still in training. We were already a body, but without reason or sensibiliade, hence the anthropological. This initial experience in brand as a trauma, only in the positive sense of the term, which is the psychological character I. This original brand, the freedom not felt experience, is as a void that can not be satiated, but we identified in relation with art and with it, momentarily filled the void.

Deep desire to feel free, but just do not know it, for it is unconscious.

And as we are, indeed, the source of the pleasure we feel, the externarmos for the art object our deepest desire, that we are free, we must liberate everything and everyone.

If there is a relationship between Freedom and moral actions, then this should be: liberate all.

What Schiller tells us is that Bela Art shows us that we are so constituted. We are beings of reason and sensibility, but we are harmonics, unabridged, complete, when we have this pleasure to feel free, even not being.

We left rather museums and theaters changed, For there we find who we truly are. Art should show us this path to a special pleasure and happiness.

Thus, the meaning of our life would be to be free, and that, we need to feel free to walk in. So, we live in a culture that has this interpretation of freedom as the foundation.

Beauty = Freedom

The relationship between Beauty and Moral

.

When we got our Sense and Sensibility developed, we increase our chances of achieving our goal momentarily life, the us feel free. We live in a culture, or society, I have facilitated these moments.

But do not just take Sense and Sensibility developed, it takes a relationship with objects, nature or people. To feel this special pleasure to be free, we act, consciously or not, to release. As we are liberated we are that we can feel free.

The Art helps us identify what we need deeper and noble: the desire to feel free.

.

The art object seems alive, as are we transfer our desire for freedom for him, which in turn, must have characteristics that reflect this our desire as if it. The same occurs with nature, and it must occur in our human relationships.

We liberate other people because we are happy with it. But free others for pleasure is moral?

It is very difficult to have aesthetic pleasure when we are in pain, afraid of getting sick, afraid of losing their jobs, when we are concerned, when we are always thinking of ways to make money, when we are very determined to have other pleasures, than that to feel free. Hard to take pleasure hungry, it is also when we are wronged. We need to be free, now in the negative sense of freedom (conforme Isaiah Berlin), of those determinations that prevent us from having the special pleasure of Beauty or from feeling free.

With our Sense and Sensibility Thin being developed, as I wished Schiller, We act more easily in a necessary way to liberate all, all the time. We must act to free others from all that prevents them from having aesthetic pleasure, as well, we ourselves this pleasure. Act morally is, therefore, act to free the others to have the aesthetic pleasure of feeling free. Thus, we also feel free.

The Beauty, morality and freedom are, in this way, eternally intertwined.

The artist's work is externalize, with his art, their desire for freedom so that others can feel it.

my technique, which I titled "Outlines", aims to revive something that often over time and the very familiarity wears - the relationship with the Fair. Living with something and intimacy arising there, in gradually becomes virtually insensitive to around us and we were, once, reason of affection.

My paintings are composed by joining circles painted freehand, that evoke the perpetual motion of our own memories and relationships. From these circles and combinations chromatic and tonal, deconstruct and reconstruct images from my imagination, diluting them as memories, seeking harmony and beauty that is made available to the viewer in a different way.

Owner of a peculiar painting, pervaded by an incessant search for Belo, His work reflects an intimate research into various aspects of the existence of the artist. Prompted by the goal of finding harmony through an own poetry, it proposes a complexity in image building. Your challenge is, therefore, having to deal with this complexity proposal to get to your goal: the cause reason and sensitivity are equal in strength to emerge that the Fair.

His technique invites us to the amazing, not in imposing the image, but leading us to discover it. It takes us to the aesthetic pleasure through the single fabric, We are approaching the existence of each work, wherein ratio and sensitivity, now in full harmony, impels us to externalize, as language beings, the term Belo.

How to develop fine sensitivity and the ratio

Schiller is necessary to develop both the most to have pleasure and elevate culture

We are great when it comes to the development of Reason (which may lead us to barbarism!), this since the times of Socrates. But this approach has gained momentum with the Enlightenment. We should be, at the same time, grateful and questioning this reason the primordia. We must both the sciences and the need to continue developing in all scientific fields (as it would be good if we have the cure for Covid-19). But we can not give up, ever, to also develop this fine sensibility that Schiller drew attention at the end of the century. XVIII.

Science help us to develop the reason, as philosophy. The arts help us develop fine sensibildiade, as philosophy. Philosophy, strange as it may seem, can help us develop Sense and Sensibility. To try to understand this, it might be necessary to read Schiller and his friend and philosopher Fichte (1762 – 1814).

Ah, and when we talk about science, naturally we are including all ralacionado technology.

Then in schools, if the argument presented here makes any sense, we should learn science, the languages, technologies, philosophy and the arts. The latter more focused, but not exclusively, to feel, for freedom, to the feeling of Beauty and aesthetic pleasure.

Schiller said that it would take 100 years to realize a change in culture. Who knows, we can accelerate a bit and see our children feeling truly free.
