This week, the “Festival Toriba Musical” has two solo guitar recitals with Daniel Murray and lyrical music with soprano Guiomar Milan

The Campos do Jordão Festival Toriba Musical, with the best quality music echoing in the majestic mountains of Mantiqueira!

This week, there will be three more presentations at Fireplace Room of the Hotel Toriba, at 7:30 pm.

Two of them have as attraction Daniel murray, one of the most talented Brazilian guitarists of his generation, in recitals for solo guitar.

In on wednesday, 4 Nov, Murray makes a program dedicated to popular Brazilian composers. Highlights for “Enigma”, from Garoto, “Jongo”, de Paulo Bellinati, “Lapinha”, of Baden Powell, and “frevo, by Egberto Gismonti.

In Friday, 5 Nov, Murray returns to Sala da Lareira to interpret works written or adapted for classical guitar. Among them, to “BWV Suite 997”, J. S. Bach, two “Preludes” it's two “Studies” by Villa-Lobos, and “In praise of dance”, de Leo Brouwer.

On Saturday, 7 Nov, lyric music day, the attraction is the soprano Guiomar Milan. Accompanied at the piano by Antonio Luiz Barker, the singer starts the program with opera arias, such as “I am the humble handmaid”, by Francesco Cilèa, by Adriana Lecouvreur, and “A lot of we'll see”, by Puccini, de Madama Butterfly. In the final part, songs from the classical repertoire plus two songs from the Lebanese tradition: “Aam Behlamak ya helm ya Lebnan” and “Rudani Ela Biladi”.
