Naura Timm presents the exhibition “Archetypal Brasilia” with works that are based on archetypes inspired by the historical clippings of Brasília.

The show brings the ever-present existential proposal in the art of Naura Timm, curated by Tartaglia Arte, at Centro Cultural Correios RJ.

Visual artist Naura Timm presents the exhibition “Archetypal Brasilia”, bringing works that are based on archetypes – ideas as models originating from all existing things -, based on the historical outline of Brasilia. The pieces show archetypes that represent the instinct perceived by the senses and with their own personality..

In the words of Regina Nobrez, curator of the show alongside Riccardo Tartaglia, “his works are about archetypes in unconscious projections, mainly formed by elements that report what Jung (Carl Gustav Jung psychoanalist, anthropologist, philosopher) called shadows. This theory will be used in an attempt to explain the origin of the archetypal forms seen in some buildings in Brasilia., analyzing results of shadow casts, in the definitions of spatialities, taking as an example the historical outline of Brasilia. A place as an individual who can manifest several archetypes in their personality but usually one of them is predominant, and Brasilia develops potentialities and the pursuit of knowledge and the practice of self-reflection, that the artist tries to convey in her works… and in his magical art in Brasilia.”

The exhibition “Archetypal Brasilia” can be visited from 01 th December 2022 to 28 January 2023, at Centro Cultural Correios RJ, 2º andar – salas B e C, curated by Tartaglia Arte.

In the words of Naura Timm

“My work is a confrontation with my existential proposal, walks along with everything I have accomplished within the Art.

I abstain, However, to consider what the result itself represents, since, I dwelled exhaustively on the research of “Artistic Pleasure” within my own life.

Considering what I got, anyway, the existential reason in front of everything that I propose – to continue the realization of what I undertook a long time ago… the heart, to “Art of the Heart”, – beat in universal and artistic rhythm, the energy of walking, create, produce in a loving rhythm – feeling as the universal basis of the World, the consistency that represents the human archetype in the face of the journey that I managed to materialize in colors and poetry through the vibratory resonance that feeling is in the Art that I capture through the antennas that I have – my Body – my possible sensitivity as a being.

My resume materialized through many wanderings, and, a full trunk, unprecedented, of what I captured energetically from several countries in America, Europe, East and Africa – my psyche, my confrontation through my own human coordination, the possible that each man develops through the wall of his conditionings… what I released – the greatness of growing and positioning myself at an increasing pace as a being, woman, artist.

What I propose – to open this chest, to show the possible meaning of Art in the psyche of humanity – the moon – its hidden side – the female archetype, the everything, the embryo. Art is an unequivocal center of human growth and possibilities.”

About Naura Timm

Noura Timm (1941), painter,  label and designer, was born in São Pedro do Sul, RS, in 1941. He studied at the UFSM Arts Center in 1967 to 1969. In 1973, Studied at the School of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro. Em 1974/1975, studied lithography at the Institute of Fine Arts, RJ. During the decade of 70, exhibited several times in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In 1977, participated in the exhibition Seis Artistas Goianos in Rome, Milan and Genoa (Italy), and Paris (France).

During a decade of 80, participated in several exhibitions in Mexico, such as the group show at the Museum of Modern Art in Guadalajara, in addition to an individual exhibition at the Museu de la Ciudad de México. In the same period, he participated in the 3rd National Salon of Plastic Arts at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro and in the Itinerary Exhibition 1, an itinerant exhibition of plastic artists from Brasilia, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Florianópolis, Joinville, Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro.

He also lived in Goiânia, GO, 1967/1969, Santa Maria, RS, 1973/ 1975, in Rio de Janeiro, RJ, 1977, and currently in Brasilia, DF. He published the books Echoes of America, Northeast Brazil and The Shrink Tarot.

The artist lived 12  years in mexico, where he held and participated in many itinerant individual and collective exhibitions. He was also present in many itinerant collective exhibitions in Europe. Currently, is on display at the Cochos Museum, in Portugal, with the exhibition“Brasilia Open Museum.”

About Tartaglia Arte

Tartaglia Arte was founded in 1950 as a painting studio by artist Piero Tartaglia, then known as Piery. after a few years, created a point of reference and cultural meeting with other artists and young talents where, under the guidance of the Master, developed their personal style.

Tartaglia's overwhelming passion for pictorial expression with bursts of pure color and violent contrasts that make the canvas come alive, gave life to the School of Disgregationism. He later founded the Galleries, for permanent exhibition of their work and those of their students, and that today are directed by his son Riccardo.

The love for art and a broad cultural vision are the peculiarities of this great artist., and represent their moral and spiritual heritage. Heritage that continues to be represented by Riccardo Tartaglia, who works with the same seriousness and tenacity in the propagation of art, through international exhibitions and events.
