1- Where did you born? And what is your academic training?

I was born in Porto Alegre RS.

Faculty of Fine Arts UFRGS.

Postgraduate degree in Film Production PUCRS.

2- How and when you give your first contact with the Arts?

I come from a family of artists, from child attend vernissages, including one of my aunts owned gallery, always I liked these meetings, Although very small.

3- How did you find this gift?

Always I wrote and did illustration for my stories in kindergarten and early literacy, More important to me was the story scenario, always creating environments designed for school essays.

4- What are your main influences?

I have many influences, I loved seeing the exhibits Iberê Camargo, illustrious countryman, already in the College of Arts, Ufrgs, I had contact with other paint beasts, I was charmed with Willem de Kooning, with the COBRA Group, more abstract painting, other passion was to know the work of Anselm Kiefer.

5- What materials do you use in your works?

I often use acrylic paint, but also work with plaster, spackling and use me collage, sometimes. As the painting time, itself tells me what to wear, respect this dialogue.

6- What is your creative process itself? What inspires you?

There are many inspirations, sometimes on a watch images that attract me travel there drawing or photograph, a search that always have is the time, the memory, when I realize that this journey image is no longer there, I see the possibility of giving another context to painting, usually play, play with this quality we have to transgress the recorded image itself, I do overlap other images and photos of other times and places, even in the same paint, but another context create an imaginary scenario to the reality that will be exposed in the same space and time. This set of perspectives and parallel worlds fascinates me.

7- When you started effectively to produce or create your works?

I was still at the Faculty of Arts, in the years 90, participating in National and International Salons, already entered in exhibitions of young artists and emerging, all in the institutional area, I had great opportunities at that time, It was the only way for young artists to contact curators and gallery owners everywhere.

8- Art is an intellectual production exquisite, where emotions are embedded in the context of creation, but in art history, we see that many artists are derived from other, following technical and artistic movements through time, you own any model or influence of any artist? Who would be?

I had several mentors, teachers and artists that I lived and admired, Daniel current It was an influence for many young aspirants to visual ARTS, already I enjoyed much of his work and did a winter course, when finished I just wanted to go to the studio and paint as he lol, but I was also very influenced by Leda Catunda, POP my side that is still with me at times.

9- What does art mean to you? If you were to summarize in a few words the meaning of Arts in your life…

Art is my way of expression, when I thought of becoming a professional he had attended psychology, philosophy and pedagogy, but I felt I could make a difference in thinking with the other visual arts, I realized immediately that my vocation was this not just a hobby. Today I realize how art changes thoughts and emotions, art vibrates at a ground where psychoanalysis itself works, I can transform anguish, traumas, social policy, that is, the art has healing power in viewer, somehow… even stir the aching bowels.

10- What techniques do you use to express their ideas, feelings and perceptions about the world? (Whether it is through painting, sculpture, drawing, collage, photography… or uses several techniques in order to make a mix of different art forms).

I think any art form is possible to work, provided we have skills to develop, I've done photo exhibitions, objects, scenarios for theater, art direction in film, I have worked with street interventions, graffiti, anyway, my painting is just one way to express myself, although it has other, Painting for me is something sublime, the place that can be true with greater ease.

11- Every artist has his mentor, that person whom you mirrored that encouraged and inspired you to follow this career you, going ahead and taking your dreams the other expression levels, who this person is and how it introduced you in the art world?

My aunts artists, Helena Maya d'Avila and Liana d'Avila Brandão, They encouraged me since childhood.

12- You have another activity beyond art? You give lessons, lectures etc.?

Currently I dedicate full time to my studio.

14- Your plans for the future?

I intend to improve, to learn, study and work even harder so that my art has a greater meaning, aware that transforms and forming of opinions.

In your opinion what is the future of Brazilian art and its artists? (in the general context) and why so many artists are giving preference to show their work in international exhibitions despite high costs?

Faced with the crisis that we are living in the country, I think many artists have faced with great motivation, many fairs, many new galleries, the market is only a detail, what moves an artist is the will to do, to express, I think we have many good artists in training, homes and courses, all going to a construction plan and cultural development. Crises are proof that we must go, not be the last and neither was the first, reason to work always have. What I see is an increased interest in Latin American artists, Africa e Asia, this causes a motivation, Americans and Europeans investing in us Brazilians, more we invest in our country.

I have noticed that some traditional galleries are closing activities. Artists are giving preference to exhibit at Cultural Spaces. In your opinion what would be the cause?

Cultural spaces are subsidized and work with notices, this makes it feasible and is also a way to legitimize an artist, it happens to be accepted into a trusted platform, This was the aim of being approached by major galleries in the near future.
