The 1st Literary Festival of São Paulo received 2,5 thousand rotating visitors and recorded growth numbers in the publishing market
Not last sunday (08) It happened, in person, to 1ª São Paulo Literary Festival. The event, with ten publishers present, lasted about 11 hours and counted 5.500 books sold with rotation of 2,5 thousand visitors between readers, publishers and authors.
In a crisis scenario, the publishing market was not prepared to face a global pandemic such as that of COVID-19. Therefore, authors and publishers used creativity to reinvent themselves, bringing virtual events and increasing the performance of online stores. Canceling the SP Book Biennial was greatly missed and that's where the idea of FLISP. "The pandemic did not stop our production and we had many launches during the year", says Lilian Vaccaro, publisher do Editorial Group Coherence, editor responsible for creating the event. "We scheduled the event knowing that it might not happen", continues the publisher, which also states that it would only continue the FLISP If São Paulo were in green phase.

Early October, the governor João Doria announced green phase for 76% of the cities of São Paulo, including the capital. The internship allows almost all activities and reopening of theaters, cinemas and events. Security measures are mandatory. Reduced capacity, distance from 1,5 meter between people, mandatory use of masks, marked places, temperature measurement, scheduled time entry, room cleaning and microphones, and rotating flow of participants.
Held at Associação Osaka Naniwa-Kai, in the Vila Mariana region, The FLISP featured several book releases, autograph sessions, fraternization between authors and ten stands for small publishers, medium and large (Alphabet, Angel, Bamboozinho, Bezz, Coherence, DCL, Trail, IBEP, Leya Brasil and PL).
