The Art Museum of the river-SEA, under the management of the Odeon and Institute in partnership with BG Brazil, performs, through the School Look, the Art Festival and movement. The debates and workshops take place between 20 and 23 October and proposes a series of investigations on the relationship between light and movement on the international year of light – a worldwide initiative led by UNESCO, that highlights the importance of light and optical technologies in society.
On Wednesday (21), the sea Education Manager, Janaina Melo, Opens the cycle of lectures featuring guests from different areas of knowledge. The photographer Miguel Chikaoka participates in two tables: às 14h, the chat will be on light, photography and education, While at 7:00 pm joins him Paulo Nenflidio creates to debate education, experience and art. On the same day, at 5:30 pm, There is a debate about science and creative processes with Melina Almada, the Museum's education Manager of tomorrow and the artist Paulo Paes.
On Thursday, 22, at 3:0 pm, will be in the exhibition agenda Kurt Klagsbrunnm a humanist photographer in Rio, with a gallery talk about the light in the photograph of the artist. At 7:00 pm, Lu Basha and Edu Monteiro speak about the project pathospalidus and present to the public a different perspective on the theme of light and movement in the theatre. Closing the festival programming, the Sea receives for the first time the collective Chelpa Ferro. The Group, working with research of acoustic and electronic sound sources, show your work in the Museum's pilotis, day 23, Friday, às 18h30.
Workshop with students of the GEA
In the days 20, 22 and 23, between 10:00 and 12:00, the School carries out in partnership with look the Experimental Visual Arts Gym (GEA) a unique activity for students. Miguel Chikaoka was invited to think and carry out the project, that encourages the exercise of perception and expression of self and the world, through educational practices inspired by element reading light.
BG Brazil and the sea
BG Brazil, sponsor of the SEA, recognize the museums as important allies for the educational development of children and young people. The partnership with the Sea also aims to support the revitalization of the port region, one of the most important projects of urban recovery of the city of Rio de Janeiro.

MIGUEL CHIKAOKA
Paulista, the son of Japanese immigrants, Miguel Chikaoka graduated in electrical engineering from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) and he began postgraduate studies at École Supérieure de Mécanique et Électricité de Nancy, France. In 1980, abandons the career, Returns to Brazil on condition of photographer and follows to work as a photojournalist in Belém do Pará.
In 1984, with the support of the Foundation of support to the development of research of UFPA and FUNARTE, he conceived and coordinated the Midwest project, a program for teaching, research and dissemination of photographic activity in the region, whose unfolding has led Bethlehem to design as one of the most important references in the context of brazilian contemporary photography.
Received, in 2012, Brazil Photography Award and Commendation of the order of Cultural Merit from the Ministry of culture for his contribution to the brazilian photography.
PAULO NENFLIDIO CREATES
Paulo Nenflidio creates has a degree in fine arts from ECA – USP and in electronics by ETE Lauro Gomes. Nenflidio creates is a sound artist. His works are sculptures, facilities, objects, instruments and drawings. Sound, Electronics, movement, construction, invention, randomness, Physics, control, Automation and workaround are elements present in their artistic production. His works resemble bugs, musical instruments or machines of science fiction. In 2003, He participated in the artistic residence Scholarship Pampulha, in Belo Horizonte, having performed the work Music of the winds. Received, in 2005, the award Sergio Motta art and technology for work. In 2009, held residency at the ASU Art Museum in Arizona, having produced an individual during the period of residence. Participated in the 7th biennial of Visual Arts of MERCOSUR and of the Parallel shows 2010.

PAULO PAES
Paulo Paes was born in Belém do Pará, where he lived until the 17 years. In 1978, He moved to Rio de Janeiro, joining at the school of Visual Arts of Parque Lage, where he remained as a student and, later, as a teacher, until 1992. Participated in several individual and collective exhibitions. In 1992, conceived and coordinated, in partnership with Ricardo Basbaum and Ricardo Sepulveda, the group exhibition Eco-Sensory, in Rio de Janeiro. In 1991, was selected to exhibit at the 21st International Biennial of São Paulo. In 1984, participated in the press conference How are you doing, generation 80?, in Rio de Janeiro.
MELINA ALMADA
Master in art theory and criticism at PPGA/UFES and graduated in plastic arts [Bachelor's degree] UFES. The Museum's Education Manager of tomorrow, having worked at the Museum of art and Art Museum of the Holy Spirit.
JANAINA MELO
Graduated in History (UFMG) and graduated from Escola Guignard (UEMG). Is the Education Manager of Rio Art Museum/School the look – SEA. Was curator of art and Cultural education Inhotim, Brumadinho [2007-2012], teacher of art criticism of the Guignard school UEMG [2010-2012] and coordinator of Visual Arts of the Pampulha Museum [2004-2007]. Curator of the project open Atelier Guignard school UEMG [editions 2010-2012]. He was curator of the exhibition program of the first edition of the artist residency project JACA, Nova Lima, MG [2010] and curatorial Assistant of the program Rumos Itaú Cultural of Visual Arts [2008-2009]. Has texts published in books, catalogues and magazines.
LU BASHA
Graduated in contemporary dance at Diplome D ' etad de France – Paris; Training in Suzuki and View Points with the Siti Company NY/Chicago; Physical theatre training with the English Director David Glass in London; Asthanga Yoga Vidya space in São Paulo and interpretation with Georgette Fadel, Cristiane Paoli Quito and Meisner method with Thomas Raj. Acts as a dancer and an actress in the theater, film and TV. He was a member of the Newsgroups. Deborah Colker, Intrépida Trupe circus-theatre and dance Dani Lima. Brazilian artist received the award for International Program of residence Chantier en Construction, in Paris. Develops research in body preparation and direction of movement along the theater and dance groups.
In 2003, founded the Cavalry, performing arts company which held the shows "Ilhah!”, "Doma", "Lavender", "Animal origin of God". Also the dance short film "Jet","Bubble", "Lobotomy of a Heart" and various performances.
EDU MONTEIRO
Visual artist, photographer and researcher. Is a Ph.d. candidate in art from UERJ and a master's degree in Contemporary Studies of the arts by the UFF (2013). Launched this year the book Saturn (Azougue Editorial, 2014). Is one of the editors of the current – the last newspaper of the Earth and a contributing photographer for National Geographic magazine since 2002. In 2012 was Photovisa Award finalist in Russia and in 2009 II Prize finalist IILA of photography at Italy. Currently has been working in the area of Arts with emphasis on crossings between performance, photography and literature. Participated in several collective and individual exhibitions.
CHELPA FERRO
Interested in the expansion of the universe sound-visual and in finding different ways to organize your improvisations, the group formed by the artists Sergio Mekler, Barrão and Luiz Zerbini is developing its language. Depending on the search for new sounds and different possibilities of orchestration and Assembly, the Chelpa Ferro works with the research of acoustic and electronic sound sources, with the construction of "sound machines and mechanisms", and with the unconventional use of traditional musical instruments. This adds a dialogue, uninterrupted also, with the cinema, video, the theatre and dance. Installations/concerts, the boundary space and intersection between Visual and sound information is the place where to build this experience with concepts such as texture, spatial organization, overlap, perspective, density, speed, repetition, fragmentation, etc.
The Museu de Arte do Rio
The sea is a space dedicated to art and education. Installed in Praca Maua, occupies two adjacent buildings: an older, lying and eclectic style, which houses eight galleries of the; another younger, Modernist, Look where the school's work. The architectural design unites the two buildings with a fluid concrete cover, which refers to a wave - a trademark of the museum -, and a ramp, where visitors come to the exhibition spaces.
O MAR, an initiative of the City Government in partnership with the Roberto Marinho Foundation, have activities that involve collecting, registration, search, preservation and return of cultural property to the community. The Museum was born with a school-the School of Look-, whose proposal is innovative museological: foster the development of an educational program of reference for actions in Brazil and abroad, combining art and education from the curatorial program that guides the institution.
The museum has the Globe Group as maintainer, sponsored by BG Brazil, In addition to Souza Cruz, Dow and Brookfield. It also sponsored the Braskem by means of the law of incentive to the culture of the State of Rio de Janeiro, with the support of the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro, and the Ministry of culture and the Federal Government of Brazil through the Federal law of incentive to culture. The management is left to the Odeon Institute.
River Art Museum Service -SEA
Entrance: R$ 8 The R $ 4 (half price) - People with up 21 years, private school students, university, disabled people and public servants of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Payment by cash or card (Visa or Mastercard).
Policy free: Pay no entry-on presentation of evidentiary documentation – students from public (teaching elementary and middle), children up to five years or people from 60, public school teachers, employees of museums, groups in situations of social vulnerability educational visit, Neighbors of the sea and tourist guides. Tuesdays admission is free to the general public. On Sunday admission is free for holders of the passport of Museums in Rio that have not yet the stamp of the sea. On the last Sunday of the month, the Museum has free entry to all through the project Sunday at sea.
