Fall asleep with the music of life.
Be enchanted.
Forget it.
Dispersion is a pleasure.
Don't want to be you.
Want to be the infinite soul of everything.
Change your short human dream
For the immortal dream.
The only.
The misery of being afraid wins.
Swap yourself for the Unknown.
don't you see then, that he is bigger?
Don't you see that it has no end?
Don't you see that it is you?
You have forgotten about yourself?(MEIRELES, 1982, Song IV)
Our great poet sowed dreams and spoke about life with the most beautiful words. For simplicity and sweetness, Cecília Meireles was a woman of enchantment and wonder. His verses transcend poetry, pass through the cult of states of consciousness. Above all, Your Poetry is Music for the Spirit.
The Art speak through words, through images promotes sighs of wonder and allows the heart to be still. Admirable is the hand that produces and that strives to understand the whims of the spirit. Infinity fits on canvas or photograph, all the feelings in the world fit into the brief blank space that will be covered by ink or drawing. Interpreting moments and turning them into a work is the artist's curiosity acting on his hand..
This translation of the spirit of Art took place in several works that are in exhibition at Lotus Gallery, represented in colors and in joyful shapes, holidays, how should life be. The works celebrate the lives of real women, who live true stories and who, although they are not in the media, are at the forefront of great battles. The unmistakable smile of our dear Zezé Mota was stamped on the photograph of her daughter Sandra Rozados (Figure 1). The highlighting of the colors made the light that illuminates the face evident, with clear light and dark spots. As if the sunlight kissed the faces of the protagonists of the scene, Maria Vieira's work (Figure 2) lights up with light tones, with blue and white. And even more than that, the honoree of the work represents the battle for life, for the help, for the joy.
The woman who lives in the middle of nature, seems to have been born from flowers (Figure 3), just like the many other riverside women. Your daily struggle for life, for sustenance and family often goes unnoticed in the eyes of those who live in a big city, where the facilities are so many. The pandemic left a trail of irreparable loss and constant nostalgia for families who lost their loved ones., as in Luciane's work (Figure 4). The presence of life in the work, through the warm colors, by the smile of the character and by the flowers the grief does not cease, but it lessens the pain and leaves the impression that the person is never gone.
