Discovering Dalí

Organized by decades, containing the evolution of his personal trajectory and production as a painter in parallel with the history of the 20th century that influenced him so much, This huge gallery has large backlit walls that allow visitors to see the works enlarged, in order to perceive details and understand the different techniques used by Dalí in his paintings.

Dali Polyhedral

Here visitors will see Dalí's illustrations for literary classics (as “Don Quixote”); his original scenography developed for theater and cinema (in works by Luis Buñuel and Alfred Hitchcock, for example); the goldsmith shop that gave rise to surreal jewelry collections; art direction and leadership in disruptive advertising campaigns; and the unpredictable appearances that transformed him into a filmmaker and producer of short films.

The Dalinian Atelier

The artist's main studio is recreated in a space that replicates that of the Salvador Dalí House-Museum in Portlligat, coast of Catalonia. The environment understands the influence of the studio on its main works, starting with El Cristo, passing the portraits of his wife Gala – countless times represented in all phases of the artist -, and culminating in great works such as The Discovery of America.

Surrealism

The public will walk through a tunnel designed for sensorial insertion into the most representative paintings of Dalí's work, being able to admire and interact with the possibilities dreamed by the artist. This walk is recorded and can be downloaded free of charge to visitors' smartphones.

Dual Interpretation and Stereoscopy Images

Featuring advanced scenography, special lighting features and 3D glasses on part of the route, Salvador Dalí's aesthetic and scientific experiments with the image world will lead the public to reflect on how the paths of art can influence, subvert or just please the human senses.
