Artist uses natural pigments from the Passo Fundo region in the production of alternative paints for his works
With the exhibition Human Figure and Nature in Maria Lucina's Work, to artist Maria Lucina Busato Bueno, resident of Passo Fundo, comes on stage at Sesc/RS Virtual Gallery This Tuesday (20/07). The show, which will be available on the website www.sesc-rs.com.br/galeriavirtual, brings 11 paintings with natural paints dating from 1984 on. Revealing the passage of time without losing the natural color characteristic, the works are creative consequences that result from testing, systematizations and research of many years of work. Mineral and vegetable pigments were collected mainly in the Passo Fundo region, but also in other places, when there is interest in color.
Natural from Bark, Maria Lucina is a painter, art educator and researcher. She has a degree in Design and a postgraduate degree in Art, Theory and Methods, both from the University of Passo Fundo (UPF). She was a professor at the state network and served as a professor at the Faculty of Arts and Communication at the UPF for 27 years. In addition to paintings with traditional paints, develops research with natural pigments in the Passo Fundo region for the production of alternative paints for artistic and educational use. Participate in artistic activities, art halls, exhibitions in several cities in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazilian capitals and abroad.
The Sesc/RS Virtual Gallery, which aims to enhance the relationship of the visual arts with different audiences and value the gaucho artists, presents a different exhibition per month until December. With diverse approaches and techniques, each artist shows part of their collection, composing an exhibition with audio description and virtual meetings during the year. like a physical gallery, the virtual space contains several rooms with exhibitions that will be open for visitation until the end of the year, available for access at any time.
