Businesswoman Renata dy Souza opens the doors of her duplex, in New York, for the exhibition of fine arts “Bad Girls”, from day 8 de Mayo

Project includes works by 3 brazilian artists, that pulsate the courage to expose their psyches and identities in a playful and powerful way

During his professional career, Renata dy Souza was an executive and artistic producer of Maria Gadú, businesswoman from Clarice Falcão, Cícero, Mariana Volker, Nuria Malena, Zignal, Bruce Gomlevsky among others. And after producing 2 shows of Lenin decided to embark on a nomadic life for 4 years.

At the age of 40 years, she decided to take a break from traveling around the world and live in New York, in the United States. Passionate about all the forms that culture provides and now with the possibility to stay in one place for a longer time, Renata from the day 8 May, opens the doors of its duplex in Manhattan for the first time to collectors and connoisseurs of fine arts presenting its first Pop Up: “Bad Girls”.

In partnership with her longtime friend, Luiza Maldonado, and the specialist and also an English-Canadian curator Simon watson, with 40 years in the international market and is a great encourager of Brazilian art, three Brazilian artists were chosen: either Magrela, Ana Júlia Vilela and Cacá Fonseca, who are standing out for the courage to expose their psyches and identities in a playful and powerful way. They will be exposed respectively, Seven, nine and five paintings by each artist.

“The idea is that each artist can take their point of expression of our culture abroad and this is only the first part of the project that has a date set to arrive in Berlin! Let's live in the present moment and let the colors reverberate, emotions and movement provided by the works of these wonderful artists ”, says Renata.

This desire to welcome artists into the home comes from a long time ago. It all started in 2001, when he first visited “Santa Tereza de Portas Abertas”. Eleven years later, still in Brazil, broke the walls of the guest room by placing an electrified rail and, bringing a format of a gallery, joined the art collection of the artist Cacá Fonseca.

Last year, present at a meeting of Casa Anitcha (Collective committed to planetary regeneration), shared this desire with the group and the words of friend Edson Chucky were the missing incentive to put that desire into action again. Started your contacts and today, with 48% of the population of Manhattan completely vaccinated, 64% with the first dose and with the necessary care, the old dream of opening your home to the fine arts will become a reality from the day 8 de Mayo.

In this first phase, the exhibition will be open to guests only, each being able to invite two more people. The “Bad Girls” exhibition will last for two months and can be visited in person with prior appointment.

The works will be available for purchase with Renata's curator and partner in this project, Simon watson. “My purpose is to make people more than dream, perform! When I have a wish, I just go ”, says Renata.

Citing singer and songwriter once agent Cícero, she adds: "Take your shoes off to get in and watch out because I moved some certainties".
