“Be kind” movement fosters positive attitudes in society
Celebrated annually on 13 November, World Kindness Day came about with the intention of inspiring people to create a kinder world. This year, the date gains a special Movement that honors traditions, promoting empathy interventions throughout Brazil and promoting actions that inspire human beings to believe in good. “To be kind is to be a seed that makes good flourish”. The verse of the poet Bráulio Bessa reflects the essence of the Movement Be kind, that comes up with the proposal to encourage people to include empathic practices in their routines. The main objective of the initiative is to spread optimism and good collective actions, on the internet, through the Ser gentil website and Instagram @sergentilsempre, besides the dissemination of graphic pieces so that the cause is propagated. The idea arose from the need to stimulate kindness and generate hope in this pandemic context, considering that, for Glauber Gentil - creator of the Movement -, meeting and respecting people can be the key to success and tolerance.
Today, as proposed by the date, is a day to reflect attitudes, think not next, and including, allow yourself to be kinder to yourself. Say friendly words, treat everyone equally, help those in need and distribute compliments, are examples of small attitudes that can change someone's day, and mainly, contribute to the happiness and well-being of those who practice. There are studies that prove, including, that being kind helps physical and mental health.
For those who don't know where to start and seek inspiration, can watch the chat between the presenter Angélica, the singer Toquinho and the poet Bráulio Bessa, that is available on Youtube. In this conversation, Angélica interviews the artists who, together, made the “manifest of Being gentle”, a sung poem that expresses the importance of caring for others and how to put it into practice. The verses, compounds exclusively for the Movement, motivate society to dedicate a little time to spread the good, from simple everyday attitudes to volunteering practices and donations through the Eu Apoio website.
The platform “Be kind” aims to connect those who want to practice kindness more frequently to institutions and projects of different causes that need help. Activities can be followed on the platform sergentil.com.br and on Instagram profile @sergentilsempre. The Movement already has the support of more than 30 partner companies, like Grupo Boticário, Bittencourt Group, Visagio, Imaginarium, Builder's House, Sá Cavalcante Group, RecZero Malls & Retail, Practice business, Francap, GS&MD, Family Advisory, JCPM, BTR Varese, Brazilian Franchising Association, Brazilian Society of Retail and Consumption, Group MD, Light, Scaffold Education, PG Prime, Turn On The Light, Conscious Franchising Movement, União Rio Movement, GreenGo and A Card.
