What are the challenges of art / artist in the current scenario?

Art today has a significant challenge.. Although we are freer to develop art, many artists feel pressured to develop an art that is “sold”. And, end up building an art of "fashion". I see that there is a trend that ends up being replicated by many artists, due to financial need and to be accepted in society. The need for virtual exposure, is also a positive and challenging factor..
