The Sacred Art Museum promotes a practical course on Expressions In Sacred Art: The Reverse Glass Painting with Prof. Silvana Borges.
Reverse artistic painting is a technique that uses glass as the support, called "reverse" because it is precisely the result of "inside out" painting to be viewed through the glass. This paint system has existed since ancient times, traces of creating colorful figures of glass were found in ancient cultures, like Rome, Byzantium, China and throughout the Middle Ages.
Theoretical content: The origins of the reverse glass painting of icons on Ancient Rome Romanian. The occurrence of the technique of painting on glass used for religious works in Europe between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, whose manufacturing through trade routes extended to Asia. iconographic variations of reverse glass painting and some of its symbols. practical workshop: The manufacture of a reverse glass painting, with demonstration of the design execution, application of colors and gilding on glass. The practical workshop covers theoretical and practical contents for the study of the art object in its symbolism (iconography) and materiality (artistic techniques), making attainable artistic expression by the use of simple materials and affordable.
You do not need experience in painting.
Each participant must bring two fine brushes (no. zero) for single use, all course material is not even.

Silvana Borges It is artist and architect expert in conservation and restoration in the fields of Sacred Art (paint and imaginary) and Architecture (wall art), professional affiliated with the International Council of Museums (ICOM), the Brazilian Association of Conservatives and Restorers of Cultural Property (ABRACOR) and the Brazilian Imaginary Studies Center (CEIB). Lectures and courses on the preservation of heritage and artistic techniques. His works are published in prestigious art catalogs and literary collections, receiving several awards and trophies, present in exhibitions and collections in countries like Mexico, Italy, USA, France, Spain, Holland, Hungary, Portugal and China on a path 30 years of artistic and literary activities.
