The Harvard Center for Latin American Studies David Rockefeller (DRCLAS) has open registration for renowned artists and photojournalists for the next digital exhibition Documenting the Impact of Covid-19 through photography: Collective Isolation in Latin America.

The competition aims to create a critical visual record of our unprecedented times. The year of 2020 will be remembered as a watershed in which a pandemic revealed the inequalities and fissures in our society and the relevance of living and participating in communities, even facing the pandemic in isolation.

The contest is open to photojournalists and established and mid-career artists, citizens of any country, but the photographs must have been taken in Latin America or the Caribbean, including Puerto Rico, between 1 March and 30 August.

A jury formed by scholars, Harvard-affiliated curators and artists will review all entries and select winners and the three award-winning works will form part of DRCLAS 'permanent art and photography collection, in addition to being invited to participate in a virtual round table organized by DRCLAS during the autumn semester.

The contest will end after the first two hundred entries received, even if it's before September 1st. Even day 16 July, one hundred and twenty applications have already been submitted.
