Banco do Brasil Cultural Center presents Floras, of installation site specific, composed of 50 animations generated by algorithmic processes whose theme is organic shapes of great visual impact and chromatic voltage.
Set in the Foyer of CCBB Rio de Janeiro, the work is by artist Rejane Cantoni, one of the Brazilian artists with the most international insertions in electronic and digital art exhibitions.

From on wednesday, day 01 of december the audience that visits the CCBBs Rio de Janeiro you will find on the ground floor of the institution a sensory garden made of light, a virtual landscape, ferns, digital flowers and leaves moved by the wind, storms, birds and everything else that the imagination allows to perceive.
from the artist Rejane Cantons, one of the Brazilian artists with the most international insertions in electronic and digital art exhibitions, FLORAS is a site specific installation, designed to reflect on Nature and Technology Blockchain, cryptoart e NFTs.
Floras is composed of about 50 animations generated by analog and digital algorithmic processes, unique and exclusive. The series, an abstract set of factual reverberations, explores organic forms of great visual impact and chromatic strength.
FLORAS it's an installation site specific – specially produced to set the CCBB RJ entrance and works as a game: your initial state determines your evolution. The digital program updates the visualization of the work through two combinatorial rules: attraction and repulsion. The function of these rules is to continually reconfigure the whole, from the interaction between the parties, which means the installation is in constant transformation.. The same viewer can return to it infinite times, and she will never be the same.
In FLORAS the public is also invited to contribute to the evolution of the work.. The possibility of interaction occurs through the project profile nft_floras, no Instagram. When the visitor “likes” one of the profile videos, the program interprets the "like" and, as a result, new videos will be generated considering this information.
“The “Garden of Light” by Rejane Cantoni is above all a mutant body, that each interaction gives rise to a new pictorial expression, a new form of simulacrum of nature, of vegetal splendor, which gives the “interactor” – the external agent – the ability to create a personal universe, born of simple and everyday gestures, like the likes or downloads that can be tagged within the infinite possibilities of NFT support, in a game of distancing x immersion that is the leit-motiv of work. The artist like this, proposes a treatise on the variants of chance as a form of expression", says Byron Mendes, curator of the exhibition that is at CCBB RJ until 24 January 2022.
The artist Rejane Cantoni has been pioneering throughout her trajectory, a deep artistic investigation into the applicability of new technologies in expanding the perception of what can be absorbed as visual expression in the arts. His works have always had an anchor in the possibility of interacting with the public in tactile installations, physical and digital. Using an experimental and broad technological repertoire, of great imagery and sensorial appeal, the artist maintains in her work a pictorial component that, in a way, is the most perennial bridge between artistic creation and people, garnering immediate empathy for your work.
“Designing and installing a site specific work is not a simple task. you have to study a lot. Search for the particularities of the institution that invites you; ask lots of questions and answer some of them: Where? What is the history of CCBB RJ? how is the architecture? How is the ambient light? How long does the work remain installed? who will interact? what is the audience (from the center of Rio, of art)? what is the theme? What is the social relevance of the proposal? what is the team? what is the available budget? In FLORAS, the curatorship proposed to invite the CCBB RJ audience to experience and reflect on Nature, Blockchain technology, cryptoart. The Nature-Technology relationship is a key and trendy problem and the possibility of dealing with it in the context of CCBB RJ, for all museum visitors, it seemed like a seductive challenge, especially when we consider the history and architecture of the building,” says Rejane Cantoni
“Rejane Cantoni also works with the light/reflection binomial, in site specific installations that absorb the plastic vocabulary erected from the founding kinetic experiences. The artist, several years ago, transits smoothly between analog phenomenologies, in immersive chromatic settings and the proto-cyber universe that gave rise to the advent of NFTs. In this sense, all your seminal production, based on innovation and technological relationship as support, converged on the series in NFTs format that he has been developing", complements the exhibition curator.

ABOUT CCBB
The Banco do Brasil Cultural Center Rio de Janeiro occupies the historic nº 66 of 1st March Street, in the city centre, building with neoclassical lines that, in the past, was linked to finance and business.
In the late 1980, rescuing the symbolic and architectural value of the building, Banco do Brasil decided for its preservation by transforming it into a cultural center. The adaptation project preserved the refinement of the columns, of the ornaments, of the marble that rises from the foyer through the stairs and reworked the dome over the rotunda.
Inaugurated in 12 October 1989, the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center has more than 30 years of history and celebrates more than 50 millions of visits along your journey. The CCBB is a landmark in the revitalization of the historic center of the city of Rio de Janeiro and maintains a plural program, regular, affordable and quality.
