Casa-Museu Ema Klabin offers online cultural programming

Through the museum's social networks, the public will be able to listen to unprecedented performances by guitarists who have already shared the stage with big names, miss homesick groups that have already performed at the museum, download the free digital magazine “Mulher e Seu Saberes” and learn more about the collection

The Ema Klabin House Museum, in São Paulo, continues with a series of online actions to bring information, Culture, reflection and fun to the public. Every week there are news with cultural activities for the whole family in the project #CasaMuseuEmCasa.

Every Thursday in May, to 17 hours, The Museum's YouTube Channel has musical programming with new performances recorded by guitarists directly from their homes. Among them, the participation of Matheus Alves, Isabel Luiza, Andrea Perrone and Duo Fryvan. The project is a partnership of Casa- Ema Klabin Museum with Guitar and Ponto.

The first to perform on the day 7 de Mayo, it is Matheus Alves who will interpret two own compositions: ‘La Jobiniana’ and ‘Tarde de Sol’.

The musician is part of the Quintum Instrumental Picumã, fusion group of platinum music with several other world strands and that recently recorded an album with the multi instrumentalist Arismar do Espírito Santo. He is also preparing to launch his first solo work, titled “Regional Guitar”, where he walks through regional rhythms with his authorial compositions, with the participation of great musicians from the RS instrumental scene.

Next week, day 14 de Mayo, always at 17h, guitarist Isabel Luiza interprets the Movements 1 and 3 yes 'Mexicana Sonata', by Manuel Ponce.

Day 21 May is the guitarist's turn, Porto Alegre singer and songwriter Andrea Perrone playing ‘For Fun’ and ‘High’, both of his authorship. In 2019 Andrea shared the stage with the legendary musician André Geraissati, in a partnership for the Brazilian Guitar Project of SESC SP.

Duo Fryvan completes the guitar performances. Formed in 2012 by guitarists Fredy Pietz and Ivan Sakavicius, the duo performs their own pieces: ‘Galápagos’ and ‘Simple as Being’ Musicians who performed in Europe and at various festivals in São Paulo, already shared the stage with Duofel. The presentation on the Casa-Museu Ema Klabin YouTube Channel takes place on the day 28 de Mayo, às 17h.

In addition to the guitar performances, you will be able to remember full shows of musical groups that performed through the Tardes Musicais Program. in May, highlights of Ana Flor de Carvalho's concerts, Guilherme Kafé, Palimpsest, Benny Goodman, Sextet Revival e Café Tango.

Or newspaper, which brings together leading experts, brings in your 170 pages reports of experiences of cultural programming held at the Museum. The coordinator of the Course Nucleus, Lectures and Publications from the Ema Klabin House-Museum, Ana Cristina Moutela Costa, invited some of these experts who will exhibit on the museum's social networks a little about their articles. Among them Ana Beatriz Demarchi Barel that addresses the representation of women and the female universe; Tânia de Luca who talks about women in the Press; Cláudia Heynemann, which tells about female scientists persecuted by regimes that prevented them from exercising their professions and Karin Phillipov who takes a journey of the feminine in the Ema Klabin Collection.

Another article that draws attention is that of researcher Laura Formighieri, who focuses on the work of women performers in the context of Latin America. The article is dedicated to observing how artists who carry the identity marks of being women and Latin Americans think and produce performances from a feminist and decolonial perspective..

Greek mythology:

The museum's Educative also prepared a series of activities on Ema Klabin's collection for social media. The proposal “Work In Your Home”, for example, invites the public to reflect on a work from the collection of Ema Klabin that is not on display in the museum and belongs to the technical reserve, stimulating visual perception and the discovery of new meanings. For the day 13/05, enjoying the week of Mother's Day, woodcut “Woman Breastfeeding” by artist Fayga Ostrower will be discussed. For the day 27/05, the lithographs of Maria Bonomi.

The public will also learn more about the myths, folk tales and stories that hide behind the details of pieces from the Ema Klabin Collection (Collection Mythologies). in May, the museum's educational program will highlight Greek Mythology. From two works in the collection, “Ariadne”, from French Jean-Baptiste Greuze (day 20/05) and “Triumph of Bacchus and Ariadne” by Italian artist John the Baptist Gaulli (day 27/05) Stories will be told that span the centuries and talk about the myth of Theseus and Ariadne. After listening to the audios, the public will be invited to make an illustration about the history and take a photo that will be shared on the Casa-Museu social networks.
