At the age of 4 years old, when I met an artist who was painting a landscape. There I realized that that was my way.

3- How did you find this gift?

It was seeing books and reproductions by famous artists, and I always drew from the cradle, by spontaneous combustion.

Carlos Thága é Artista Plástico.
Carlos Thága is Plastic Artist.

4- What are your main influences?

Candido Portinari, Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud, David Hockney and many other classic masters.

5- What materials do you use in your works?

I use gouache, oily pastel, dry pastel, Nankin ink, acrylic paint and finally oil on canvas.

6- What is your creative process itself? What inspires you?

It all starts in the mental, after a brief study of the composition of the work: colors, characters, environment and others. My inspiration is always present, I see and think like art.

7- When you started effectively to produce or create your works?

At four years of age, my father had good financial resources and bought a lot of materials for me. at the age of 12 years I won my first mention.

8- Art is an intellectual production exquisite, where emotions are embedded in the context of creation, but in art history, we see that many artists are derived from other, following technical and artistic movements through time, you own any model or influence of any artist? Who would be?

At the beginning, every artist has a reference to create, experience the creative process that interests you, but when he starts to master the techniques, the path is personal, unique and singular.

9- What does art mean to you? If you were to summarize in a few words the meaning of the Arts in your life ...

Everything in the world is born from the creativity of an artist. Everything in the world came from art.

10- What techniques do you use to express their ideas, feelings and perceptions about the world? (Whether it is through painting, sculpture, drawing, collage, photography… or uses several techniques in order to make a mix of different art forms)

Currently, oil painting in mixed technique with oxidized iron powder, has been an expression language, figurative hour, abstract hour.

11- Every artist has his mentor, that person whom you mirrored that encouraged and inspired you to follow this career you, going ahead and taking your dreams the other expression levels, who this person is and how it introduced you in the art world?

I didn't have any mentors in particular, “Myself” I have accumulated a vast study of art, both in concepts and techniques. This became the tool for my creative spirit, that always inspires me to create according to the world's observations.

12- You have another activity beyond art? You teaches classes, lectures etc.?

I've done it all, but time is short and I have many ideas to create. So I left everything for the art of painting.

13- Its major national and international exhibitions and their awards?

Attending exhibitions are no longer relevant to me, I don't believe in awards or group exhibitions, my career is solo, I create publicize, always seeing and living from my art. For me it's necessary.

14- Your plans for the future?

I don't believe in the future or the past, my thinking is quantum. I believe in the here and now, where infinite possibilities are favorable… as for the rest “I deliver to the universe”.

15- In your opinion what is the future of Brazilian art and its artists? (in the general context) and why so many artists are giving preference to show their work in international exhibitions despite high costs?

There is a lot of misinformation in all contexts of human life, art is not always what they say about it, nor what is expected of her. In my opinion if you are an “excellent artist” and you know what you do; and makes the difference between so many, the art market comes to you, no matter where you are your art will be seen appreciated and desired. Art is like love, you don't look?! She comes on your date.
