Theater BOX Nelson Rodrigues receives, from 05 to 14 October 2018 (Friday to Sunday), a Ballet Stagium, with the show "Pictures and Voices", directed by Marika Gidali and Décio Otero. Assembly launches the challenge to investigate the state of Dadaist spirit, as it emerged and its implications for our times. On the road from 1971, Ballet Stagium is the most long-lived dance company in the country and is synonymous with performance based search combined with artistic quality. The company does not come to Rio de Janeiro, since 2010 returning now to "Figures and Voices", work 2015, in which the Ballet Stagium proposes a new perspective of looking, in order to recreate values and review our symbolic universe.
During World War I, Dada comes with the clear intention of destroying all systems and codes established in the world. as ideology, Dadaism aggregated content anarchic strong opposing any kind of poise and rationality. In "Pictures and Voices", the random and chance spring as opposed to institutionalized world and moved by the rapidity of the information, calling into question the purpose of our actions.
To Decius Otero, Company founder, "The fact of creating an independent company in 1971 It was a heroic act in Brazil. Marika rushed, also founder of Stagium, complements: "It's fun to have full creative freedom and at the same time give ourselves the right to play with this utopia. In 2017, It was reopened after a major renovation of modernization and restoration of artistic works that frame the building, such as panels Carybé, Pedro Araújo Filho belt, Ernani Macedo, Roberto Sá and Freda Garden. LUPA PRODUCER PARIS
Created in Brazil in 2001, by Luciana Valeo and producer and artist Paul Costta, the company aims to cooperate, durable and sustainable way in the development of cultural exchanges, valuing the Brazilian traditions. It has extensive experience in international artistic relations and bilateral communication, in particular, between Brazil and France, performing music enhancement projects and Brazilian art (dance theater literature, exhibitions and film).
