The Galeria ARTE4 was opened in 2019 as an exhibition space created by four friends.
The initial dream evolved and art workshops emerged, art history classes and exhibitions of new artists.
Eventually, ARTE4 became a reference in Búzios, where is located.
In the pandemic, joined forces with Contemporâneos Galeria and Casa Alphonsus de Ouro Preto to create the Artistic Seminar of the Triângulo das Artes, an initiative to mitigate the impacts of the crisis on the artistic class. This seminar was successfully held in the 2020 and 2021.
In addition, the partnership resulted in the exhibition “Modernists 1922-2022” at the Casa dos Contos Museum, in Ouro Preto, which celebrated the centenary of Modern Art Week in 1922 with original works by artists represented by the three galleries.
In 2023, ARTE4 welcomed Lu Valença as a new partner, completing the quartet alongside Eduardo Pieretti, Laura Vivacqua and Patricia Penna. In this last year, the gallery promoted several collective and individual exhibitions, workshops and got involved in environment partnerships, fairs and congresses.
On 13 July, ARTE4 will celebrate its five years of existence with the collective exhibition “Five years A4” curated by Lu Valença and Patricia Penna.

The event will feature the participation of 36 artists who were part of the gallery’s trajectory, whether as residents or in occasional exhibitions.
This retrospective will honor the artists who contributed to singular moments and will reinforce art as an instrument of transformation, development and collective.
