The industrial and railway landscape and modernist architecture examples of Curitiba, two relevant issues on preserving the city's heritage, are the themes of the seminar Preservation Challenges: industrial landscape and modern architecture, What happens on Thursday (13/09), às 14h, in Curitiba Memorial.
Sponsored by the Cultural Foundation of Curitiba, by Heritage Board, and with support from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), The seminar is part of the 13th meeting of the Municipal Heritage Council (CMPC), and the aim is to discuss experiences and preservation strategies of cultural goods manufacturing and modern. The event is open to the public, especially academics from the fields of Architecture and Urbanism and History.
"Both the industrial landscape and railway, as the preservation of modern architecture are issues that, in the future, They should be discussed in the Council on own processes, because it is listed as assets Interest Preservation Units to be analyzed ", highlights Ana Cristina de Castro, FCC Chairman and also the Heritage Council.
For the seminar were distinguished professors invited nationally in each of these areas of study for the campain. To address the industrial and railway landscape was invited Professor Dr. Manoela Rossinetti Rufinoni, Department of History of Art and the Graduate Program in Art History at the School of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences of the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP).

Graduated in Architecture and Urbanism, the teacher has a doctorate and master's degree in History and Fundamentals of Architecture and Urbanism, recognized expert in the industrial heritage studies and rail, author of award-winning books and over 40 works published between books, articles and reviews.
Already professor Dr. Sylvia Fischer, Department of Theory and History of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Brasilia (UNB), is who will talk about the importance of preserving modern architecture copies.
Fischer conducts research and guides work in the areas of eclectic architecture and modern. Graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from USP, the teacher is Master of Historic Preservation, Columbia University, New York, PhD in Social History from USP and has Sociology in postdoctoral studies at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Sociales in Science, of Paris. Among his published works are The architects of Poli, who received, in 2005, Clio award Paulistana Academy of History.
