The French Alliance presents Botafogo Saturday, to 11 hours the pocket opera "Boum Mon Boeuf" with singer and musician Claire Luzi (voice, mandolin and accordion) and Rio musician Cristiano Nascimento (steel guitar 7 strings and trombone), to sing, touch and lyricism rely on the origin of the French expression “to beef !”, in Portuguese "make an ox!”, which is nothing when French musicians informally meet to make a sound.

The story began in the double 2005, Luzi when Claire came to Brazil to study the Brazilian mandolin and met Cristiano crying in wheel, he touched, in Largo do Machado (RJ). Since then, They not separated more. In 2007, They created the company "La Roda", which is responsible for spreading the cry in Europe. From there began organizing crying wheels between Aix-en-Provenve and Marseille (French cities).

La Roda born of these fruitful meetings and exchanges of French-Brazilian inspiration, entering the frenzied circle dance that leads the hybrid and original compositions. Ten years of action and twice the passion. The taste of tradition anchored in a resolutely contemporary universe. Expression of printed cultures with the South American oral transmission, meeting place and echoes in the heart of the Provencal territory.

Boum My Beef"Offers a proprietary blend and that goes from the popular repertoire of Corsica to merengue Venezuela. With performances for children from 5 years, but also enchant the general public, the show is a true invitation to travel through the discovery of traditional songs between France and Brazil.

After having produced the tour Duo Luzi Nascimento 2014 and 2016 the Ze Boiadé, La Roda co-produced with the delegation of the French Alliances of Brazil the Boum Mon Boeuf ride. Steps planned for the tour 2019 of 'Boum My Beef' Vão ser 6 French alliances: Rio de Janeiro, Campinas, Araraquara, São José dos Campos, Brasilia, Goiânia and Porto Alegre.

Por que "Boum my Beef ?”

A mandolin and a guitar that make an ox, original songs, an enchanted steer Brazil, a nostalgic tune of Darius Milhaud, an ox on the roof, a carnival samba, are the ingredients of this musical spectacle.

Mas o que é Boum my Beef? Making the ox? It's a strange way to call these informal musical gatherings! The music leads us to discover the Parisian atmosphere of the crazy, time of a bistro called “An Ox on the Roof”.

Let us rediscover the inspirations of Darius Milhaud composer who spent two years of his life in Rio de Janeiro, where he brought some musical ideas (and cattle!) for their compositions. In The River, samba brings us to a frantic carnival 1917, which will resume in chorus a song called "The Ox on the Roof".

And what this bull was doing on the roof? The answer is maybe my Boi Bumba, a musical tradition and dance of northeastern Brazil where they speak of enchanted ox.
