Curitiba Memorial opens this Friday (4), at 19h, the exhibition "Luiz Claudio Marigo-Photographer and Environmentalist". In addition to the display of 37 photographic images of flora and fauna, will be projected a video of interviews and significant work of cutouts Marigo. The victim of a heart attack, the photographer died on 2 June 2014. The curator, visual programming and organization is Cecilia Marigo.
Marigo has always advocated the ecological cause. In the 1980, actively participated in the creation of the Mamirauá Sustainable Development Reserve, in the Amazon, where photographed during 20 years, disseminating the project in Brazil and abroad. Through art, the photographer intended to educate and inform about the importance of preserving the environment.
The recognition came through Awards, in 1987, received the first prize in the category From Dusk to Down the prestigious English contest Wildlife Photographer of the Year, by the Natural History Museum of London, and 2011, won the Jabuti award in the category “Photography”, with your book “Nature photography-theory and practice”.
On display until 28 February, the visitation happens to 12:00 and 9:00 of 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, from Tuesday to Friday, and the 9:00 at 3:00 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Admission is free.
