The Memorial Foundation hosts the 2º Autumn Salon in Latin America by Edmundo Cavalcanti

After the success of the 1° edition, is happening the 2° Autumn Salon in Latin America, from 9 May to 1º June of 2014, at Galeria Marta Traba of the Memorial Foundation in Latin America.

Curated by Claude Martin Vaskou and Eliana Minillo, this salon is open to artists of all nationalities, trends or current artistic. The Hall is an initiative of the Salon d'Automne Cultural Association France-Brazil, produced in partnership with the Latin American Memorial. With the support of Embassy of France and Embassy of Uruguay in Brasília, of Salon d’Automne de Paris, of Associação de Proteção dos Direitos de Autor – AUTVIS, of Alliance Française of São Paulo, of APAP, among others.

To participate, artists had their artworks judged by a jury, chaired by Cirton Genaro, vice-president of APAP (Associação Profissional dos Artistas Plásticos de São Paulo) the jury for the 2º edition of the Salon d'Automne in Latin America met in the last week of january of 2014 in the gallery of Latin America Memorial. Integrated desk: Claude Martin Vaskou, commissioner of SOAL; Eliana Minillo, artist and co-commissioner of SOAL; Ângela Barbour, director of Galeria Marta Traba; Cássio Lázaro, sculptor; Noël Coret, president of Salon d'Automne of Paris (virtual participation) and Walter Miranda, president of APAP.

Were selected 129 artists from 18 different countries of South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. The disciplines represented are: painting, photography, sculpture, installation, book artist and graphic arts in its many forms of expression.

Side events are also planned: conferences and debates, monitored visits, artist residency and workshops, among other activities.

As well as Salon d'Automne of Paris, the Salon d'Automne in Latin America is to promote the exchange between artists from different nationalities, facilitate the exchange of good interdisciplinary practices, artistic and academic, and, especially, the discovery of new talents, without restrictions on nationality, trends or even artistic currents.

This year the 2º Autumn Salon in Latin America, pays tribute to the Brazilian artist Candido Portinari:

On its opening attended by more than 900 people between exhibitors, and guests.

Also during the opening ceremony took place the award of the best works selected by the jury of the Salon. Below is the list of winners.
