Aliança Francesa in Rio presents the illustrated concert “Rezé's Journey (The Voyage of Rézé), from the french group Bazaar Productions, in the days 4 and 5 of June (saturday and sunday), nO theater 3 of the Cultural Center Banco do Brasil Rio de Janeiro
The show features the participation of French artists, Rémi 'Rezé’ Pecout (singer and guitarist), Francois Soifran’ Brossier (percussionist), in addition to the “drawer-carnêtista” David “emdé” Magli and the musician from Burkina Faso, Samuel Zabsonre (bassist).
Special participation of musician Marcelo Caldi, accordionist, pianist, arranger, Brazilian singer and orchestrator.
From 28 from May to 6 of June, the French Alliance of Rio de Janeiro welcomes the French group Bazaar Productions for an artist residency illustrated concert “Rezé's Journey (“The Voyage of Rézé“). After the residency held at the Teatro da Aliança Francesa in Botafogo, the show will be presented on 4 and 5 June 2022 (saturday and sunday), to 18 hours, nO theater 3 to CCBB-RJ (First Street March, 66, Center).
The production is composed by two French musicians, Rémi 'Rezé’ Pecout (singer and guitarist), Francois Soifran’ Brossier (percussionist) and Samuel Zabsonre (bassist), beyond David “emdé” Magli, “drawer-carnêtista”, who draws live during the concert. The show is a proposal for the whole family., and is recommended for children aged seven and over.
Great connoisseurs of Brazilian music for having already lived in Brazil, the group invited local artists to each stage of the Brazilian tour, carried out with the network of Alianças Francesas in Brazil, to share the stage and collaborate to create a special version of the show. To join the project during the residency in Rio de Janeiro, the group invited Marcelo Caldi, composer, accordionist, pianist, arranger, Brazilian singer and orchestrator. In addition, they propose a studio that mixes music, rhythms, drawings and images and whose objective is to get closer to the public, inviting you to participate in the artistic creation process, on Wednesday, 1th of june, in the Auditorium of the Alliance Française of Botafogo.
The group tour with the show “The Voyage of Rézé” is a project of the network of French Alliances in Brazil, with the support of the city of Grenoble, Institut Français, French Embassy in Brazil and Spedidam.

About the artists
Rézé – guitarist and vocalist
Rémi 'Rezé’ Pécout grew up in the Grenoble region. He began his musical training at the Conservatory of St.. Egrève for two years and, then, continued his jazz studies for five years at the École National de la Musique de Villeurbanne before graduating in Afro-Brazilian polyrhythms in Salvador, Bahia.
Author, composer and performer, he shares the interest of jazz musicians around the world in traditional music. Francois Brossier – musician and sound technician
Passionate about rhythms and percussion, Francois Soifran’ Brossier answers the drum's call in 1994 going to Burkina-Faso and Mali to study the art of the djembe and the musical tradition. Fascinated by the closeness between musician and dancer, not knowing which one leads to the other, decides to study to practice the rhythm, with the aim of serving the dance. Afro-Cuban music, Brazilian samba and percussion, ‘Soifran’ feeds off the rhythms of projects like Cie. La Batook, which he founded in Grenoble in the year 1999.
He followed the study of music and the West African diaspora by becoming interested in Cuban musical traditions at the Conservatoire de Chambéry. His research led him to compose a minimalist rhythmic language at the service of text and melody..
In parallel to his work as a musician, François is interested in the technique of sound: capture and sound of shows. He puts his ear and his technical knowledge at the service of different artistic projects.
Samuel Zabsonre – bassist
Samuel Zabsonré (Ray Lemma, Bil Aka Kora, Alif Naba, Etienne M'Bappé, Smokey, Richard Bona) is a bass player, guitar player, Burkina Faso percussionist and singer. A solid experience links him to Christoo Duron and François Brossier, in multiple exchanges and work sessions around Cie La Batook, and more recently in the frame of “Portraits Croisés”, a multifaceted work that offers portraits of inhabitants of Grenoble and Ouagadougou around the issue of happiness. His work as an instrumentalist and his great knowledge of West African music will be a valuable contribution.
emde – “drawer-carnêtista”
Illustrated concert visual artist “The Voyage of Rézé”, emdé loves to hunt sketches, both in exotic lands and in one's own home and nearby urban environment. In your city, near or on the other side of the world, it's always the same process: he settles in a corner, observe and choose carefully what to sketch.
