The Art Museum of the river-SEA, under the management of the Institute Odeon, completed six years on March 1, same date as the anniversary of the city of Rio de Janeiro. To celebrate another year of the institution, the last weekend of March will be stuffed with a special program and free.
On 29 (Friday), at 18h, It takes place the first edition of Music in SEA 2019, which will feature Bk rapper show ', exponent of the new artist rap scene. Member of the music label Lost Pyramid, the musician was elevated to national fame in 2016 with acclaimed “castles & Ruins”, his debut album. In the SEA stilts, BK’ will present the album tour show “giants” (2018), started in January this year. Or musical event, curated by Gabriel Moreno, even with the participation of DJ KIB, collective $ B7DJ.
"The SEA was a real birthday present for the city! Only last year, received almost 500 thousand visitors. We are open to dialogue, in tune with the cultural movements and attentive to the public's wishes. The exhibition "The samba of Rio", for example, It was extended due to the great visitation. Another milestone is the show “Women in the Collection SEA”, which began with a campaign to increase the number of women artists in the museum's collection and has incorporated about 70 new works. We continue fighting to build a museum of Rio to Rio and for Brazil. Our desire was to celebrate with a special edition of one of the largest cultural museum programs, Music SEA ", counts Eleonora Santa Rosa, executive director of SEA.
On 30, the museum receives the launch event Sow Collection - Books Puri. Published by the State Secretariat of Culture of Rio de Janeiro, this collection is a repair in March indigenous cultures of southeastern Brazil. Through this publication, the people originating Puri brings a rich informative and educational materials, which can be used so that teachers and students understand some of the native soul Puri. artistic intervention in honor of Aunt Lucia, Collective with M. P
In honor of the artist Lucia Maria dos Santos, Aunt Lucia, one of the most emblematic figures of the Port Region, Rio Art Museum will receive a graphic intervention on its facade, developed by Thiago Haule and Diego God, the collective M. P. The artists created a stencil Tia Lucia, late in September 2018, which will be printed on the banner that will be displayed throughout the weekend.

14h às 17h – Launch of Sow Collection – Puris books

Visit up to an hour long which offers panoramic view of the museum's spaces in connection with the history of the port area and Little Africa, through a mapped route that links a set of works of the exhibits on display. A visit, intended for all audiences, It begins next to the box office and is completed within the exhibition hall, so that the visitor can choose the shows and spaces that I would revisit. The Art Museum of the river-SEA
An initiative of Prefeitura do Rio in partnership with Fundação Roberto Marinho, the sea has activities that involve collecting, registration, search, preservation and return of cultural property to the community. Proactive support space education and culture, the museum was born with a school - the School Look -, whose proposal is innovative museological: foster the development of an educational program of reference for actions in Brazil and abroad, combining art and education based on the curatorial program that guides the institution.
The sea is managed by the Odeon, a social organization of culture, selected by the Rio de Janeiro City Hall for public notice. The museum has the Globo Group as maintainer and Equinor as exhibitions of master sponsor through the Federal Cultural Incentive Law.
