Next weekend, the Municipal Cemetery São Francisco de Paula will be the scene of an unusual visitation. Armed with flashlights and in full moon night, visitors will be invited to know the story of the first necropolis of Curitiba, as well as their personalities, symbols and curiosities. The tour happens Friday night-fair, saturday and sunday, (days 7, 8 and 9), the 7:0 pm to 10:0 pm, for classes of up to 40 participants upon registration via email to visitaguiada@smma.curitiba.pr.gov.br.

With an average duration of 3 hours, the tour is conducted by a researcher of the Cultural Foundation of Curitiba and President of the Brazilian Association of Cemiteriais Studies, Clarissa Grassi. Inaugurated in 1854, by the provincial President Zachary de Góes and Vaishnav, the Cemetery houses, in more than 5 thousand graves, most of the personalities responsible for the history of the city of Curitiba and Parana State.

Politicians, artists, intellectuals, entrepreneurs among others will be addressed in their trajectories, but also about the architecture of their graves, symbols and meanings. Names like Maria Bueno, Baron Saw Blue, Emiliano Pernetta, Enedina Adam Marques, Vicente Machado will be part of the roadmap. The visit is a different shape and curious to immerse yourself in the history of the city of Curitiba from your oldest cemetery as a point in common.
