The 1st Literary Festival of São Paulo received 2,5 thousand rotating visitors and recorded growth numbers in the publishing market

Not last sunday (08) It happened, in person, to 1ª São Paulo Literary Festival. The event, with ten publishers present, lasted about 11 hours and counted 5.500 books sold with rotation of 2,5 thousand visitors entre leitores, publishers and authors.

In a crisis scenario, the publishing market was not prepared to face a global pandemic such as that of COVID-19. Therefore, authors and publishers used creativity to reinvent themselves, bringing virtual events and increasing the performance of online stores. Canceling the SP Book Biennial fez grande falta e foi daí que surgiu a ideia da FLISP. "The pandemic did not stop our production and we had many launches during the year", says Lilian Vaccaro, publisher do Editorial Group Coherence, editor responsible for creating the event. "We scheduled the event knowing that it might not happen", continues the publisher, que afirma também que só daria continuidade à FLISP se São Paulo estivesse na green phase.
