On 21 October, a partir the 18h, another drawer of this new artistic production of Benoit Fournier, with 15 works, three installations, a projection and the artist's breath Ernesto Neto, who wrote the poem “Arte Benoit”, especially for the friend.

This exhibition proposes to rethink our re-connection with nature and with ourselves. It's an invitation for us to feel alive after all, everything moves in a flow of colors, interconnected beings and bodies“, explains Benoit Fournier.

in the center of exhibition is the installation The Plant is the Body, the mother root being reborn and transmuting from the ashes, connected to the universe by an umbilical cord, connecting all beings. The red roots are like an extension of the veins, the blood of plants, our saps that allow communication between us living beings: humans, animals, vegetable, minerals, rivers… For the artist, we are all connected, everything is connection.

In a kind of curatorial game, in order to make explicit the artist's concerns regarding the urgency of life and its flows, the curator Bruna Costa, responsible for the first setup of the show, has invited Ulisses Carrilho, also curator, to reset the exposure.

in frank dialogue, the idea is to exercise negotiations and collectivities in decision making. Evidence that “everything in the world is people” part of a complex understanding of the interrelationship between subjects and objects, ideas and sensations, facts and fictions. As a second chapter or movement, to show reanima-se: it's not just about moving things around, but to emphasize that nothing is fixed and everything is in motion. Artist Ernesto Neto's own breath poem, present since the first show, already pointed out the importance of exercising frictions, dialogues and interferences”, says curator Ulisses Carrilho.

On 7 September, also curated by Bruna Costa, Benoit Fournier opened the exhibition green blood, Black earth, live targets, a solo show that showcased part of the artist's recent production in the Z42 cultural space, where is your studio.

Are highlights of the show Everything in the World is People", the constructions: “The target is the land", Source, black earth, arrow, macaw feather, nylon (35x40x15 cm), “The bird", branches and root (140 x 150 diameter cm) and "Xikuvimi ”, a photograph of part of the installation Espirito das Plantas, which is composed of plant structures from the plant Adiantum capiaus-generis, combined with prints on photo sheets made with indigenous peoples Huni Kuin, Yawanawá and Guarani. The occupation covers a large part of the lightly vaulted ceiling of the exhibition space, creating a feeling of immersion in a mystical and contemplative environment.

If, in contemporaneity, art tries to move from a sacred historical construction to resume its relationship with life and everyday life, this awareness cannot do without epistemes that did not create this Cartesian separation between art and life. Hence the artist's desire to bring elements of a so-called nature, not just in shapes, themes and materials, but the very core of everything you do. I borrow the term Ernesto Neto uses to refer to Benoit: "Plantartist", a being that produces a kind of vegetable art, technical means. And this symbiosis lives up to what materializes in these environments, says the curator Bruna Costa.

In 2013, Benoit won the Prix Photo Web of Alliance Française with the rehearsal Land of water. And currently in addition to support for this exhibition, Benoit and the Alliance Française are developing art workshop content for a young audience.

also in october, in his atelier in Space by Z42 arte, Benoit opens the Children's Art Workshops Program, with guests who dialogue with their art. According to him, will be an introduction to the world of natural paints. The activity will teach you how to make paints with natural pigments, using only organic materials, all intuitively, watching nature. A proposal for experimentation, to get children to create their own colors and interact with the environment, always with a lot of respect for nature.

On day 30 October, at 12:00, the guest at the children's workshops is the artist from Rio de Janeiro Rona, who lives and produces his arts in his creative space “gas, located in Boca do Mato, a community in the Lins e Vasconcelos neighborhood. along with benoit, he will lead the children of Blue Door Project, where Rona develops activities for the children in her community and where she has lived for many years.

About the Artist

Benoît Fournier (France, 1981) is plant artist, lives in Brazil since 2006. He studied at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage, in Rio de Janeiro. In its repertoire there are photographs together, paintings, sculptures, and not things. Your creative process seeks to give us the opportunity to think about our relationship with nature. At the same time support, subject and inspiration, the natural element is central and primordial in your work.; chooses ephemeral supports seeking a transforming revelation. Your research results from your interest in the connection between living things. Whether on the visible or invisible plane, animals, humans, vegetables and rivers live and flow in an interconnection we call nature. In this sense, "everything is nature", as Ailton Krenak says. And Benoit Fournier's work immerses in these connections of a sometimes despised nature. In this way, the artist proposes an intimate and profound look at this relationship of being with the world.
